i have curly brown hair and i want to put red in it.
my problem is i dont know what color red,
i dnt want it to be BAM bright red, because i think tht look like "oh thats jst an attention seeking teenager"
but i do want it to be pretty noticable.
also, i dont really like the red that comes off as maroon/purple.
anybody have picture examples?

I have dark brown hair with natural red highlights. I don't think pictures will do you any good; what you really need to do is go to a professional hairdresser, who specializes in hair colouring, for advice. Your hair dresser can compare different shades of red hair samples with your natural hair colour to determine the best shade that suits both your natural hair colour and complexion. Or you could even have your brown hair lightened, or changed to a darker shade with the appropriate red highlights which would best suit your complexion. That was the advice that I gave a friend of mine who liked my hair and the result was fantastic and really suited her - the hair dresser did a great job! And now she is able to do it herself.

Ive had dyed red hair for years but i now want a change, will it work if i go to the hair dresser and ask for my hair to be dyed brown and then highlights put in

well i know for some cases hair dyed with red is hard to change in colour, coz my sis tried and it took her 3 times to dye her hair before she got anywhere close to brown and it also depends on the colour of your red hair. is it orangy?? or like red wine kind of red... welll it also depends on the type of hair you have. try hair colour remover and dying your hair again in the right colour. but the people in the hair dressers should know wat to do. it is their profession you know :))
