here is something to think about....
I am a colorist for a very very long time and have always been opposed to"box" hair color
and the reason for that is because I spent a career fixing the mistakes they make...not for any other reason - I SAW THE DISASTER they create
If 4 people walk into the store and each one of them has a different color hair ,,,,like you have brown, she has red, the other one has black ...etc...
HOW IN THE WORLD can that one box work for everyone?
I wonder which person the hair manufacturing company chose to put the proper ingredients in there for?
what if they put the ingredients for a redhead in there?
if they did. . . . YOU are screwed......aren't you?
I will be more than happy to tell you which 2 things to buy, Just email me....I always said I would like to get rid of all the bad hair in the country.....even if it takes one person at a time.

Keeping the red hair colour.?

i have dyed my hair from reddish brown to bright red and the first few days its looked awesome, but everytime i wash it the colour lessens even though it was ment to be permenant.

is there anything i can do to keep the colour strong, any brands of colour shampoo that work really well? anything?

I dyed my hair a bright red a few years ago, and used Kiwi Coloreflector shampoo and conditioner. It worked really well and kept the red bright for a long long time. http://www.hairexpo.biz/Shampoo/ARTec-Kiwi.html?id=CZvdcaq6 The shampoo is a little expensive, but also Loreal Color Vive is a good one that's cheaper. Try to wash your hair every other day and wash it separate from showering. Wash in luke warm water also to make the red last longer. If you got it professionally done, your stylist should have told you to wait 3 days before washing your hair to make sure the red saturates your hair and will stay longer. If not, at least you know for the future.

I don't know much about ethnic hair cause im only black on the inside if you get what I sayin. hahaha. Ok i have a shit load of experience with hair so i can kinda infer with ethnic hair. Alright so if your gonna dye it without bleach its still going to be really dark and not like bright red, like rhianna red. It will be more of your hair before, with red tones. Like in the sunlight you can see the redness and your fly aways will be clearly red and it will fade fast. if I were you I would bleach it, but that can be hard doing it yourself and can be harmful to your hair. If your tryna get it like rhianna red or Erica for the Bad girls club, that kinda red then I would suggest going to the salon but if you short on cash or whatever then go to your local Beauty school or Empire and get it done there cause they really take care of you there and its not that expensive. And for the sake of your hairs health, stagger they week when you relax it and dye it. So wait at least AT LEAST 2 weeks in between so don't go bald.
Lo real is cool, but I like 'N'rage' for real vibrant Colors. Whenever I used 'N'rage' I was so happy with there results and it has bleach built in, so one step bleach and color. The down part of that is Its difficult to find, at Sally's Beauty supply I know they have it in purple blue and pink and I've seen it a couple times in red. Also its tricky to get that all over, almost natural looking color with it. I strongly suggest going to the salon so it can be bright and all over color. Without spending crazy money go too the local Beauty school, like Empire. They treat you mad nice and inexpensive AT ALL. And students have to do everything with there supervisor so they don't mess up, and I've never heard of anyone having bad luck at the Empire Beauty School. I recently did the same thing. For about a year now I have been using a dark auburn for my hair and when it went more brown than red I decided it was time for a change. I used a clairol natural instincts color and it worked fairly well. It is designed to cover darker hair and lighten it. I don't remember the number I used but after a few days it turned the desired color. One warning though, do not apply to your roots first if they are fairly grown out and a different color than the rest of your hair. My roots turned PINK for about 10 days and are still brighter than the rest of my hair.

I want to dye my hair using Loreals high colour highlights in red.. Ive done some research and want to try and get my hair like Ariana Grande, will this dye work if i use 30 developer on my already dyed hair (black!)

Since you'd already penetrated the hair shafts with black dye, it'll be much harder to convert colours. You'll need to bleach it first (I'm not sure about the 30 developer, because i've never tried it personally), and then deep condition for a while to make sure it doesn't get damaged in the dyeing process. This may take anywhere from 5 days up to a month, depending on your hair type. Unless you want to change colours right away, then I suggest you go into a salon with your colour to get it done professionally, where they better know how to handle this. Afterwards, the dye should work. It's probably not going to be as bright as Ariana Grande's, though, because commercial dyes like L'Oreal's cater to women who want more natural looking colours. You may want to research online for results, just in case a salon colour may work better for you.

I wouldn't you will damage your hair even furher.....if you can remove the bleach color from your hair( u can get hair color removers at like walmart or something )
than u can dye ur hair or watevr

Is it possible for me to get red hair without using bleach?

My original hair color is black. I plan on going for nuclear red hair dye by special effects. I have some white hair, but it is currently dyed all black (using loreal). Theres some white hair because I used to use a lot of gel long ago which damaged my hair. But have stopped gelling since. Ive Never bleached before trying not to damage hair. If Its not possible could you suggest a good red color or any other color that would be great?

Tips for dyeing your hair red ombré at home with box dye?

I'm using Loreal Feria Power Reds R68 and my natural hair color is a level 4 brown. Are there any home dyeing techniques I can use to get that blended, ombré effect? Should I use a brush or just hands (with gloves) to apply it? To get an ombré look, should I put less dye at the top and more at the bottom of my hair? Any other things you could recommend?
