hair lowlights?

Yahoo

i have light brown hair naturally. about 1 year and 1/2 ago i got blonde highlights that i liked at the time but now i'd much rather have dark brown hair. i'm going to get lowlights, put on heavy. my eyes are dark brown, and i have tan skin, so im hoping it wont look too dark, you know? its like, the color my hair is when it's wet is the color i want it to be when it's dry. do you think the hairdresser will be able to understand what i'm asking for? id appreciate any advice.
ps. i also heard that to make it look more natural, brunettes should darken their hair with red lowlights. but i dont want my hair to be red. what should i do.

Answer
If you don't want red, go for 'warm' or 'golden' dark brown. Ashy browns tend to make your hair look dyed, and you look older. They go green under fluorescent lights, and that's why stylists try to steer people toward reds.

If you're feeling uncertain, use something like Clairol's Nice N' Easy, which washes out in a few weeks, and experiment with shades.

I'd recommend anything from dark gold-brown to warm purple for lowlights. Live a little!

Just don't use black. It'll be a disaster. Trust me. I didn't see my natural hair colour from the age of 13 until I was nearly 40!

Answer
I have natural copper red hair too! My hair has natural reddish gold highlights. You should consider getting those. I've seen many redheads with those highlights and they look very natural (unless natural is not the look you are going for). I would agree with Janine about the colors, but now there is a 12 color system. You, being a natural redhead, would be warm autumn or warm spring (warm spring for lighter red hair and warm autumn for darker).
As for makeup, keep it natural. Play up your features one at a time.

I want to get highlights/lowlights, and was wondering if a darker red, blonde, and a darker brown color would look good in my hair.

I'm getting it cut tomorrow like this :

Any suggestions on color or cut or anything?
that pic was from a couple mothes ago. My hair is now a little past my shoulders now. I want to get balck streaks but my mom doesn't want me to.

I've had platinum blonde streaks before, and they looked awesome. But now I'm just looking for some variety.

Answer
i can't see your pictures, because i'm at work. but platinum blonde streaks always looks good in red hair. and i mean REALLY blonde. and maybe some brown. but not too much. wouldn't wanna cover up that gorgeous red hair!

I have always loved red hair, but I have grayish/dark blue eyes with a medium to light skintone. Also, my natural hair color is light brown.

Answer
Yes, the red tones for cool toned skin and eyes are the true reds, red browns or the red violets. Avoid anything with orange or yellow tones. You may want to just try a lowlight where select strands of hair are done with one of these colors. It is not a big risk style wise or financially. And you get to see if you like with you coloration.

What hair color/ highlights/ lowlights would look good on me?

Good nite

I have a light beige skin color
Dark-red brown eyes
My viens are blue, not green
My natural hair color is dark brown
My hairs curly, I straighten only during the school year

Any who, I've been thinking about a dark red, auburn color?

Any thoughts?
Suggestions are welcome!
Thanks!

Answer
Usually they say any shade 2 lighter or darker than it natural colour will suit u....so by the sounds of Ur hair yea auburn would suit u. Just b careful with a home dye as
Red based colours often turn dark hair Ginger. Would b worth finding a hairdresser who offers a free consultation who can recommend a colour for u
