Does The Riveting Red Shampoo and Conditioner Change the Color of Black Hair ? ?

Q. Half of my hair is Black and the other Red i bought the products to help my hair color stay red longer but iwonder if the black hair will change color .

Answer
It will not change the color of black hair. I just recently dyed my hair red so I did a bunch of research on hair care, and the Riveting Red Shampoo and Conditioner deposit amounts of red to brighten up SPECIFICALLY red, strawberry blonde, etc. hair. It basically brightens up and keeps hair vibrant. Black hair would be way too dark for it to change anything. Plus, it doesn't have any chemicals in it so I can't imagine how it would change the color of black hair. But it does add moisture and decreases frizz, so it definitely won't hurt. :)

Whats a good drugstore shampoo to protect red colored hair?

Q. I just got my hair done red and brown all throughout my hair. I heard red goes away fast so i want to leave it in as long as i can. What's a good shampoo that i can use to protect my hair color from stripping away. I heard Pantene will wash the color out. &&&& also, i know it's bad to wash your hair everyday, so how often a week should i wash my hair?

Answer
wash your hair every other day......and try color protection shampoos

Where to buy good quality red hair dye?

Neira

Hi everyone,

I would like to know where to buy good quality red hair color. At the moment, my hair is longer then shoulder-length. The color is medium ash brown with 2-3 inches light tips (colored with L'Oreal's Medium Ombre). The only reason I colored it like that is because I am 31 and I feel like I shouldn't do crazy hairdos or colors anymore, but all this time I am feeling like something is missing. So, I decided to put red over it, so that my brown hair is actually auburn and my tips are screaming crazy red, with a few highlights here and there.
I have problems finding a good red hair color. I've just ordered a jar of Manic Panic's RED PASSION, but that color is semi-permanent and I want something that's going to last at least 5-6 weeks.
Does anyone have an advice on where to find similar hair color that is permanent? Or do you think that if I mix some regular (store-bought, for example: L'Oreal's Feria or similar) red color, it would last longer?

Thank you!

Answer
are you looking for permanent or semi/demi permanent? If you're looking for permanent, Garnier, L'oreal and Clairol all make pretty good at home box dyes. I've provided a Garnier colour swatch below.
if you want a semi-permanent dye, or if you want to buy one and mix a little bit in with your conditioner (which is a good way to keep it from fading as fast), then Punky Colour makes a very pigmented red called 'Red Wine'.
For the best upkeep for red hair, I would use a colour safe shampoo. Seeing as shampoo strips the hair, you'll need something with no sulfates or Sodium Lareth Sulfate. A good shampoo for red-heads, ironically enough, is Redken. They make a shampoo called colour-extend (which I have), and it is very good quality. Avoid drugstore shampoos, because these contain a lot of silicone which means you'll have to use a strong cleansing shampoo to get rid of the build-up more often, which isn't good for red or any colour-treated hair.
You can purchase permanent hairdye at Walmart, Costco, CVS, Kroger, Ultah, Sally's, etc.
You can purchase Punky Colour @ Hot Topic, Sally's, etc. or online at Folica.com.

Hope this helps!

How long should i leave red hair dye in?

Vagitarian

Oh, also, besides using red glosser and red color protectant shampoo, is there anything else i can do to keep the color vibrant?
I'm going to bleach my hair for about an hour, to get all the black out, then i'm going to put in Ion medium red blonde. I have read that it's best to leave in red for several hours, if not half of a day, to soak up all of the color for long lasting.
What would you suggest?

Answer
I work at Sally Beauty supply and I use the Light intense red on my hair...dont EVER leave hair color on for more then 45 mins...your hair prosity will be horrible after and will never be able to be the same again even after deep cond. it. I do use red glosser and shampoos that are color protecant but that also have minor fillers lk pantene they have those for red to burgunady shampoos ect. those r awesome...also depedning on how many times u wash ur hair ever other time wash ur hair in cold water. This helps close ur hair folicule so no color will wash out..other then that theres nothin u can really do but all those things..hope this helps :)

I dyed my hair the same color as Ariana Grande's hair, and I washed it once so far ( I was told to wait 24 hours before washing it). I blow dry it and use Herbal Essences Color Protection shampoo and conditioner. After I washed it, my towel was filled with red hair dye ( the towel I put my hair up in, and in the shower my hair was dripping red). So, are there any tips or anything I should do or get to protect my hair?

Answer
It sounds like you are taking a lot of steps to prevent fading, red dye is just a bit tricky. Try washing your hair with cold water (if you can stand it!). The dye will not be as prone to bleeding and fading. Otherwise, keep using your color protection styling products.

What is the best shampoo for colored red hair?

Nicole

I dye my hair red and have a serious regimen that I follow to keep it vibrant. I wash my hair with Matrix Shade Memory shampoo for Vivid Reds, followed by a L'Oreal Artist color depositing shampoo in Red Bark then a Matrix color protective conditioner. They have discontinued my Matrix Vivid Reds, and I now need a replacement. I would like something that is specifically for red hair as opposed to just colored hair, but it needs to be clarifying. Thanks!

Answer
i would recommend timotei cherry or red berry for coloured hair !
really good for coloured hair as i have dark violet hair and i use it , smells great aswell lol :)
