So yesterday I dyed my hair with 'wella 6w praline' and 30 developer, used 2 bottles of each since I have long hair. I haven't dyed my hair in about 6 months and it used to be red. My original hair color is dark brown, I wanted to go for a caramel/lighter brown. I used pre color and after color treatment to lock hair cuticles. I didn't want to bleach because my hair became really healthy since I stopped dying it 6 months ago, and I bleached it once already too. Once I dyed it, it pretty much only shows up on my roots, and the rest seems darker. My roots even seem a bit orangey. I just took advice from the sally's people and I know they're not professionals but now I don't know if I should just get it done professionally or bleach it myself. I'm considering bleaching it since I just am sick of dark hair on me and want lighter hair! if not should I just get caramel highlights? I've had them before and I figure it'll do less damage and blend in with my hair..

Overlapping dye onto previously colored hair is what creates dullness and dryness. If you color your hair @ home or salon, let your roots grow out as long as you can stand, so the line of demarcation is easier to spot. Only run color through the lengths for five minutes to refresh the ends. To extend the time between touch-ups, use a gloss and deep -conditioning treatments. Hair dyes, which include home hair colouring kits and those used at pricey salons, are linked to deadly cancer-causing chemicals, warn scientists. In 2009 the Mail revealed that women who used hair dyes more than nine times a year had a 60% greater risk of contracting blood cancer.
A year later the European Commission banned 36 hair dyes which put long-term users at risk of bladder cancer. < < < <â¨

The chemical is not new and is present in a number of brands of dark hair colours, acting to help adhere the dye to the hair so that it doesn't wash out. PPD is sometimes added to black henna tattoos and that using them is not safe. Allergic reactions usually begin within two to 10 days following application. Skin specialist Najjia Ashraf reveals that there are barely any dyes that donât contain this toxin; even the ones who claim they donât, are not being honest. âBig brands often escape the blame by suggesting they are ammonia-free. However, ammonia and PPD are two very different things and PPD is present in nearly every dye because it is what gives off the colour,â she explains.

Because I have red jeans and I might get a white floral shirt with red flowers in it, but I don't know if it would match my hair...
