red hair dye... any good brands?

Vmp!r

does anyone know of an unnatural looking hair dye... or natural looking but out of the ordinary?? like not really common??? any brands that are really good.? my natural color is dirty blonde but i dyed it almost 5 months ago dark brown and its gotten lighter and faded...
a brand that will not fade or take longert to fade?
and when i already have dyded my hair how can i keep it its best?
....
how often do i wash it
thanx for any help
:D

Answer
Well, Herbal Essences #44 is a nice shade of red. If your looking for something unearthly, however, you might try Manic Panic. I don't know how well it works...I'm just aware that it is available.

As for washing, if you use a regular hair dye, such as Herbal Essences, you can wash it as often as you would wash your hair if it were not dyed.

Washing hair dyed with Manic Panic, however, should be done in accordance with the directions it is packaged with.

I want red hair -- what dye to use?

i need to dye my hair red.. the sort of red of a dr pepper can.
anyone know a brand or color name that is that color?
(my hair is already bleached.)
gosh you're clever, sheila.

anyhoo, i actually am looking to dye my hair for a specific reason, because i can't get ahold of a wig the color instead.

i am asking because it is not an unusual color, the sort of red of a dr pepper can/label, and i would be surprised if there was NO ONE who had any suggestions as to the specific brand of dye and the name of the color.

Answer
Herbal Essences in Paint the Town Red (shade #44 I think)
I think it would give a similar look, it's kid of bright but still natural looking too.

EDIT: people above are stupid.

What is the best bright red hair dye?

I know all reds fade super fast, but I've been cutting down the showering and that helps, but it still fades like a maniac. Something like this color.

Your major things to watch out for is "sulfates" in your shampoos they go under names like sodium laurel sulfate or "sulfa" its an ingredient used in shampoos and other products to make it foam and bubble, shampoo lacking foam doesn't mean its not cleaning! Sulfates even hide in most "color safe" labeled shampoos!

Also a henna kit may be the way to go but there not the easiest to prepare, for starters the dye after you have mixed it with hot water should sit 3 hours in a warm place preferably covered with plastic wrap and kept in sunlight if possible you will probably want the RED kit not BRIGHT RED for most brands (I used light mountain in the past), I bought the bright red kit online thinking it would look the way I wanted it but the box indicated I actually wanted the RED kit. Also henna for best results you may want to leave in your hair 1-3 hours with a plastic shower cap on top.

If you want normal (chemical) dye semi permanent color might be a good idea, and may not need bleaching if you have light enough brown hair (you will probably get a deep dark cherry color try a strand test) or I really like HERBAL ESSENCES box hair color (no bleaching) but I can only find that brand at Walmart for some reason. That brand has some really amazing colors for those who like something different like the reds, I think number 44 is a real bright red look arround the shades and choose one you like. My favorite color I keep going back to is Bronzed Rubies its like this reddish, burgundy, brown, kind of plum color really different and fun and it looks different from person to person, and depends on what your shade is when you start.

How can I get my hair a purple redish color?

Kaitlyn

This past weekend I tried to dye my hair a dark purple color, It turned out like a redish color with a light purple tint in the sun only. I was told if I bought N Rage Color Purple Plum and Ion Color Brilliance Liquid Medium Intense Red 41R-44.66 it would turn a more purple color with red tint in it. Is this true? If not what can I do to get a Dark purple color?

Answer
If you have faded dyed hair anywhere along the blue/green spectrum then you can avoid expensive trips to see a professional or having to buy colour-removing products for your hair with a simple but slightly longer method.
This involves going through the colour wheel from blue to red hair, which can be easily covered with store-bought longer lasting red hair dye, which is always darker than the vibrant colours of brands like Stargazer, Directions and Manic Panic. If you are looking for a quick fix then some of this may be useful for you too.

I'm going to dye my hair with Wella permanent hair color. idk how much creme developer i should use?

AnnaKrisha

I have black hair but I already colored my hair with Revlon Red 150 and it turned out to be brown not red. I am planning to use one bottle of the Wella hair color but i don't how much developer i need to use and idk if i have to use a bowl and a brush or if i can use a bottle to apply it to my hair. Thank you.

On the other hand, I attached Wella color chart, Koleston particularly, I wanted the color: 7/44 or 6/45 or 7/45

Will you recommend me to used a developer creme to achieve my desired color because I know if I only use Wella Koleston alone, I will not achieve the color indicated on the color chart.

I hope somebody and answer this for me. Thank you!

Answer
if you have dark hair and want to achieve that colour, you would have to bleach your hair first. if not the colour will not show up and just end up brown again.
anyway, the bottle of the hair dye should mention how much developer to use

I am a natural redhead and as i have gotten older my hair has gotten darker. Is there anyway to make it a little brighter like it was without dying it. Like staying in the sun a long time or somthing?

Also i am trying to grow my hair out, i would like it to be about this length!

I like this length, but would i have to get extentions to get it this long? My hair lenght is at my chest right now! Is there anyway to get hair this long? Thanks:)

Is medium auburn a warm or cool tone for hair color?

**Shley**

I want to dye my hair medium auburn 44 from Revlon Colorsilk and i have warm toned skin. But i wondered if the hair color was cool or warm toned. I have looked several places for the answer but as of right now i have a bunch of misleading answers. Some places say it is neutral while others argue whether it is warm or cool.

Answer
i believe auburn is a warm tone because it is a shade of red which is also warm

I am pretty pale and I have hazel eyes. My natural hair color is a medium brown with some lighter highlights. I am going to dye my hair but I am now stuck between a red hair color, a darker auburm, or a very dark brown/ black hair color. Which do you think would look the most natural and flattering? Thanks for the help!

Hmm that's a hard one. it looks like a dirty blond mixed with a copper/ginger brown. Probably more a copper/ginger hair color though, especially in the 2nd one

Sure it would look nice on you since lindsay is light, freckled as well
I think Kristen stewart's chocolatey reds would look best though
