How to fade hair RED color?

So I dyed my hair about a month or so ago. I absoultly hate red hair. I have a littlke bit of blonde in it too. But now I want it to be all blonde. So a year ago, I had black hair and now my roots only dye. WTF? help me pweaseee:D

This happened to my friend. Okay red hair dye works like Black. You can't really just lighten the hair back to let's say blond in one go. You'll damage your hair severely. That's what started to happen to my friend. She first spent days washing it---which just stripped her hair, but the red didn't come out.

You have to go to at least 3-4 sessions to get your hair periodically lightened, with a shade lighter than the one she had before. I think she did it once a month she wen one shade lighter until she reached the blond color---that she naturally was. Otherwise, her hair, as the stylist said to her, would fall out any other way. And Bleaching was a no-no because of the damage it had already been put through.

So You have to go periodically and it takes a while. In future, it's a pain in the ass for a blond to dye her hair---especially if she goes Black or Red. Because the process to going back to blond is the same. It's long and nightmarish and kills your hair.

My dark red dyed hair is fading and i had it for a week?

Now my hair was like dark brown on the top and light blonde on the bottom, i decided to dye it dark red.
My problem is that its fading especially near the bottom part, im guessing cause it was light blond.
When should i dye it again? What product should i use to prevent it from fading so fast?
And no, i don't have the money to go to a solon.

Well, red fades the fastest of all hair colors. My step by step advice is
1) re-dye your hair with ammonia free red color to prevent damage or if you dont care just use regular dye. I would dye it when it fades to an ugly bozo red or just when it seems like the hair is in good condition to re dye it.
2) When you wash it, use color protecting shampoo and conditioner and try "Its a 10" leave in conditioner after you towel dry your hair to prevent fading during the day. Use the leave in product every other day.
3) Try to keep it out of chlorine, the sun, and don't over wash it.
4) you can dye it everytime you feel your hair is in the right condition and when you think it needs touched up.

how long does it last? and does it fade to a weird brownish colour?

Red usually fades really fast. Most of the time you have to pre-lighten (bleach) the hair before applying because the red will not show up on darker hair, or previously dyed hair. It will most likely fade to an orangey color. If you need to dye over it, wait a few weeks so that you don't completely damage your hair.

do semi permanent red hair dyes fade to your natural color or do they leave residue?

i'm waiting for my natural hair to grow out and i wanted to use semi-permanent colors while i wait. i want to use semi-permanent red and i know that permanent red dyes fade into a brown/copper color. Sooo i was wondering for semi-permanent red hair dye, does it:
A) fade to your natural hair color
B) fade into the brown/copper color
C) fade into the brown/copper color and then fade into your natural hair color

Red dye is the hardest to go out. I have semi permanently and permanently died my hair reds. Anyways the answer.

D) None of the above red's fade to lighter reds like auburn color copper if you're lucky but permanent means that they won't fade so permanent red's should stay the same or fade a bit to a few lighter shades. Semi Permanent will do about the same light red or copper.

I have dark strawberry blonde hair and I really hate it, so I dye my hair red. The red colour molecule fades most quickly because it is the shortest/weakest wavelength of colour. If you use a commercial cemical dye, the red will be too bright, will look ridiculous, and will be monochromatic with little shine after a week. It will look really fake and not beautiful, and as it fades, it will turn a rancid shade of brassy orange or even pink. Alternatively, you can use henna. Henna is extremely good for your hair. Whereas chemical dyes fade in a few weeks, Henna can last for about 3-4 months, depending on how fast your roots start showing too much. I used to use chemicals, but now I use henna. What IS henna? It's a plant that when mixed with lemon juice and left for 12 hours in a warm place (on top of fridge) activates and is ready to put on hair and skin. To use it on your hair, brush it out and section it. Put vaseline on the parts of your skin and ears closest to hairline. Pull and squeeze the Henna paste through the sections of hair, then, when all is coated, pile it on top of your head and wrap plastic wrap around your head. Leave on for 4-6 hours or overnight. The longer you leave it, the darker it will be. When you go to rinse out, rinse all the paste out and then use a bottle of conditioner to soften the rest out of the hair. Do not shampoo, it ruins the results. Shampoo two days after doing hair. The colour is very bright at first, but as the dye molecule oxidizes, it darkens the hair. I don't usually like to brag, but I have got some rocking vibrant red hair! I'm super proud of my ginger locks; they're my defining trait. But I've heard that in time, red hair fades to a dirty brownish color. It's not that important to me that I'm going to dye it when that happens, I just would like to know some ways to keep it as long as I can.
Or even some products that would put in a little extra "Whoa!"

i have dyed red hair (naturally brown) and i like to use the John Freida line for Radiant Reds. they have a shampoo and conditioner and also a glaze that sort of deposits color. i find that i don't have to dye my hair as often when i use these. plus, they smell fantastic!
