i need a PERMANENT bright red hair dye.?

hippiechic

Answer
you must bleach your hair first. as white as possible, then apply some red hair dye. But beware of harmful products from China (although not all Chinese hair dye are harmful). It is permanent until you grow those natural hair of yours.

where did red hair and freckles originate from?

im-so-real

Answer
this is like the 3rd time, i've answered this question.

red hair & freckles is NOT specifically Irish, Scottish or Celtic!

"National Geographic, however, estimates that 2% of the world's population are redheads (September, 2007). It occurs mainly in northern and western European populations, and their descendants, and at low frequencies throughout other parts of Europe, Asia and Africa. "

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_hair

red hair is often found in Celtic populations, but it's certainly not limited to them. it's been found in China, Japan, Iran, Russia, the Nordic countries, Ashkenazi Jews, the South Pacific & Africa. most of these people are in no way related to the Celts, nor can they all be ruled out by random genetic mutations.

". Eighty percent of redheads have a MC1R gene variant,[10] and the prevalence of these alleles is highest in Scotland and Ireland"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_hair#Bi...

"Having freckles is genetic and is related to the presence of the melanocortin-1 receptor MC1R gene variant, which is dominant."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freckles

so while Celts do have a higher than average tendency towards being red-heads& having freckless, it isn't limited to them, but dependent on if whether person has the MC1R gene varient or not.

Red hair what do you think ?

lauren

As a kid i wasrather bullied because my hair was red with natiral highlights of blonde and autumn colours, from the age of 11 i have dyed it black, brown, pink, blue, and now i am currently blonde,my brother and sister find it very difficult too because they have red hair and my younger sister is allways bullied in school.
I have noticed there is not that many people around with natural red hair and i had allways hated the colour until i saw this picture

my hair isnt that colour but my sisters is and i think its a beautiful colour, what does everyone else think ? xx

Answer
I think you should dye your hair that color. It's a beautiful shade. There was actually a study done to see what color hair men across the world prefer. It always seemed to be the exotic color in their culture, the rarest. And guess which color is the rarest of them all? Red! Barely any women in the world have red hair, most are in northern Europe and America.

When men all across Japan, China, Mexico, Brazil, Canada, and America were asked which they preferred:
Japan: blond
China:a tie between blond and black
Mexico: red!
Brazil: blond
Canada: red!
America: red two years in a row now.

Cosmo asked twelve men who chose the red option why, two answers that stuck out to me were:
"I donno, I guess growing up around the little mermaid and Mrs. Roger Rabbit..."
"They're so feisty and fiery headed. You think of a smart, witty girl who's a secret sexy beast in the bed. Not dumb, not timid. I've had the best experiences with a red head."

Is that really what America thinks of red heads? I'd believe it.

Let me go ask my boyfriend what he prefers, "hey hun?" (btw-i'm a brunette)
"Are red heads hot?"
"Hell yes! Why you want to be one? Cause I'm for it."

I really need to find a picture of a asian with red hair and blue eyes!?

Don't freak out at me but my friend said the perfect girl for him would be a asian (China or Japan) with red hair and blue eyes. Because those are his favorite traits about girls.

I don't believe he will ever find one do any of you know a link to a picture with a asian girl with red hair and blue eyes.

(Any picture will do we don't even care if there contacts and dyed hair anymore)

Answer
I agree with the reply above. I have seen some Asian dressed in the Gwen Steffani style (can't spell what it's called) but they have the clown red wig on and contacts for blue eyes. Blue eyes are pretty if their contacts but the fake red hair would look silly.
Asians have the most beautiful black hair and it doesn't look right any other color.
Just a thought but is there maybe an underlying reason why your guy friend is saying the perfect girl for him is one that is 99.9% un-attainable?? Maybe he doesn't like girls at all and he is saying that to be funny??

Will bright red hair be a problem in china?

blah

i have bright red hair and i am going to china in the summer... however my mum seems to think it'll be a problem over there and i should dye it out. What do u think?

She is half-Chinese. Her mother is full-blooded Chinese. My friend's father met the mother in China, so the mother shouldn't have a recessive gene for red hair.

Answer
There are very rare genes for red hair amongst Asians that descended from the Tocharians of the Tarim Basin in Xinjiang province rather than the Mongolian Han Chinese. There are Melanesians with copper red hair and blonde hair. It is possible for rare alleles to persist in populations only to emerge as the phenotype on the chance combination with another rare allele.

Kurds are known to have red hair. Pashtuns, another ethnic group found in parts of Iran and Afghanistan, are known for producing redheads.

The gene for red hair is present in many Middle Eastern and Central Asian ethnic groups.â From anthropologist S J Carter http://en.allexperts.com/q/Computational-Biology-Bioinformatics-3310/2008/1/happen-1.htm

How many ethnics groups carry the gene for red hair?

Ariel 128

I think it started in one main group, but now it has spread to several more ethnic groups. I think that it is a recessive trait and that to have the red headed individual born, both parents would have to contribute the gene for red hair.

Answer
The Celts probably have the greatest frequency of the gene, but it is also present in North Germanic populations to a lesser extent, as well as in the East Slavic populations (Russia was known at one point as the land of the red haired people. Ive also heard that the Thracians (Balkans) had red hair but if you look at Balkan nations today, red hair is very very very rare.

"Several accounts by Greek writers detail redheaded people. A fragment by the Greek poet Xenophanes describes the Thracians as blue-eyed and red haired. The Greek historian Herodotus described the "Budini", probably Udmurts and Permyak Finns located on the Volga in what is modern-day Russia, as being predominantly redheaded. The Greek historian Dio Cassius described Boudica, the famous Celtic Queen of the Iceni, to: "be tall and terrifying in appearance ... a great mass of red hair ... over her shoulders".

The Roman Tacitus commented on the "red hair and large limbs of the inhabitants of Caledonia (Scotland)", which he linked with some red haired Gaulish tribes of Germanic and Belgic relation.

Red hair has also been found in Asia, notably among the Tocharians who occupied the northwesternmost province of what is modern-day China. The 2nd millennium BC caucasian Tarim mummies in China were found with red and blonde hair and most likely were of European origin."
