HI. i have naturally red hair and i would like to know if there is a way to naturally darken my hair without chemicals or products. ? cause i'm sick of having red hair.

Chica, are you sure you want to change your hair color? Red is such a beautiful color!

If you want to darken it without products, I suggest you use vinegar. For your hair color, mix in about three tablespoons of red wine vinegar with your shampoo. Shampoo, then rinse. Sit outside in the sun for a few, your hair color should change. Do not substitute for regular white vinegar, as this will bleach your hair.

I have decided to go blonde from red and I am trying to do some research on the best COLOR STRIPPING (NOT BLEACH) product for red hair. I plan to go to a professional to get the actual bleach/dye done, I just want to strip the red out beforehand to save a little money. also, should I tone it after using the color stripping product or should I just wait and my hairdresser will do it?

Red hair is notorious for being stubborn and difficult to strip, especially natural reds. Sorry, but you will have to use bleach. You don't have to use straight bleach, you can attempt to use a high lift color. But any hair color that lifts has a certain amount of bleach in it, there is no way around this. I would recommend you first use a base breaker to lighten your entire head a couple shades. Then go to Sally's and pick up a high lift blonde color, there are lots of brands, Clairol Professional, SoyPlex, Wella, Ion and more... Make sure it is the number 12, preferably 12N, which stands for nuetral. This will be the blondest color. If u wanna order online, CHI Ionic sells a 12N that will take you up nearly 8 shades, I use it for my roots instead of bleach. I have naturally black hair and bleached it and used a base breaker to get to a light blonde, so my roots are extremely dark and high lift color seems to work well. Use it on your entire head w/ 30 developer, 40 only in a salon.

I recently used a product called A Touch of Sun in my hair that is used to make the hair blonder. But now my hair looks reddish and people are noticing. What should I do to eather make it blonde like i wanted it or just back to my natural brown. (I'm a boy by the way)

i know i have used that before and it takes a few times for it to turn blonde. if you have only used it once or twice its going to take awhile. it also has a lot to do with the pigment in your hair. you might have reddish tones to your hair. so you can
1) keep using the product
2) buy actual blonde hair dye
3) buy hair dye to match it back to your original color
4) use nothing and eventually the touch of sun will fade

I have dark brown hair, with bleached strands through which have been dyed red by my hairdresser which have gone like bright red. n the rest WAS all a dark brown, dark, dark red.

I have since then thrown over red dyes to get more red, which has gone perfectly fine!



If i bleach my own hair, myself only bits of it, and get a red hair dye will it be ok? Not go ginger or yellow or green.

Red dye over bleached hair can get really orange-y, so definitely let your stylist do the red part. You also want to be careful of what's in your bleach product and your stylist's dyes. Even though you rinse your hair really well, the hair shaft can still be coated in color. If the product you use is incompatible with your stylist's product, it could fry your hair.

If you're looking for an auburn kind of red, you might like the results you get using body art quality henna. Make sure you find BAQ, though, because any lesser quality could potentially react to the bleaching process just as badly as traditional dyes.

Your hair as you get older, does NOT GET darker. It gets lighter and not just one color but several. Your hair also get discolored from the sun, due to sunburn. If you have chemicals it will speed the color changes, because of the reaction from lemon juice, chemicals, hair products. If you want to keep the color of your hair, pure & perfect from tips to roots, protect them by wearing a wide brim hat or keep them up.

Example my hair: I was blue-black when I was younger. Part of aging gracefully, I now have 4 colors naturally on mine. For red, you may have at least 7 colors as you get older. For blondes, about 15. They don't know it because they're always covering their hair with hair dyes or highlights, but for those who don't, that's what happens.

My exBF had smoldering amber hair (like Joy Philbin's hair), and he used Prell shampoo. Any OTC shampoo should do wonders for your hair (or any hair for that matter), as long as you're not getting too much sun, or adding chemicals to your hair. What you eat or what hair products you use HAS NOTHING to do with why hair changes color, only from aging and it will not reverse or prevent hair from going LIGHTER. The hair industry is a billion dollar business, if there is one they're lying about it, just to get your business.

I have red hair, and I've been wanting to tone and bleach out a chunk of my bangs into a more goldy blonde color, but I am unsure about which products are legit, I've seen " White out", but I don't feel like the reviews are too reliable. Any advice? Or a better way of doing this? And I have no job, so thanks but no thanks on the " go to the salon " comments. But thank you anyway x)

Does anyone know of a good 1 day red hair dye product?

For Halloween I'm looking to dye my hair red, but I don't want to be stuck with red hair for a couple of weeks. I've heard of 1 day hair dye, and I was wondering if anyone knew if a good 1 day red hair dye product existed. I'm also curious if this actually doesn't exist if anyone knows of a dye that would only last for a few days.

The manic panic store is sold out right now, so you have to buy it from an alternative seller.

Or, they probably sell some of a different brand in walmart. However, I -do not- recommend trying the red hair spray they sell for halloween. That stuff just gags you and does absolutely nothing.
