Red Hair to Blonde??

Jaymie M

I just dyed my hair from red to blonde, but unfortunately some strands didn't take and now I am left with dark red on the top, and lighter red/blonde on the bottom and it looks bad. I have a box of medium blonde hair dye that I can dye my hair with again to even out the lighter strands, but I was wondering what will happen to the red on top? Thanks!
What would happen if I dyed my hair the medium blonde though?

Answer
I recently went from red to blonde too. I noticed that you said dyed. To get an even color through out your hair you need to bleach it first using a number 30 or 40 developer depending on how dark you hair is. Since you already died your hair blonde i would recommend using a number 30. Start by putting the bleach on the darkest parts of your hair and lightest last that way when your hair is processing your darker pieces will have more time to process. Also when applying the bleach make sure to do it quickly so that the hair comes out evenly, I suggest having some one do it for you so that all the hair is covered. While processing keep a plastic bag over your head so the heat doesn't escape. After you finished bleaching die your hair the color blond you'd like. Make sure your hair is wet, the die will take better. As for dieing you hair medium blonde right now the red on the top of your hair might lighten a bit but not very much.

Where can i find pics of red hair on bottom and blonde on top ???

My dark red dyed hair is fading and i had it for a week?

KAG

Now my hair was like dark brown on the top and light blonde on the bottom, i decided to dye it dark red.
My problem is that its fading especially near the bottom part, im guessing cause it was light blond.
When should i dye it again? What product should i use to prevent it from fading so fast?
And no, i don't have the money to go to a solon.

Answer
Well, red fades the fastest of all hair colors. My step by step advice is
1) re-dye your hair with ammonia free red color to prevent damage or if you dont care just use regular dye. I would dye it when it fades to an ugly bozo red or just when it seems like the hair is in good condition to re dye it.
2) When you wash it, use color protecting shampoo and conditioner and try "Its a 10" leave in conditioner after you towel dry your hair to prevent fading during the day. Use the leave in product every other day.
3) Try to keep it out of chlorine, the sun, and don't over wash it.
4) you can dye it everytime you feel your hair is in the right condition and when you think it needs touched up.

How would I go about creating an ombre look on my hair with red dye on top and blonde dye on the bottom?

Once my hairs longer I want to use a bright red for the top color and go with a lighter blonde for the bottom. My natural hair color is med/dark ash brown. All the how-to's I see are for just putting in the blonde. What shade of blonde would you suggest? Any tips or advice would be extremely helpful!

Answer
You will need to bleach your entire head and then put the red dye on the top layer of hair (separate with foil or towel)
I personally would say don't do it because it will ruin your hair profoundly, but if you absolutely must, spend the extra money to get it professionally done, it will be worth it!

What is the best blonde box hair dye or bleach?

Sabrina

I am dying it red on top and blonde on the bottom...its already blonde though. Do I need to bleach or can I just dye it a blonde box? Whats the best box? If I bleach I am going to use Clairol Born Blonde. I want the blonde like a Taylor Momsen blonde. Or maybe a bit darker but not much. I have natural dirty blonde. Thanks everyone :D

Answer
You probably don't need to bleach since your already light, and if you dye your hair, don't use the new cream puffy dye! It sucks!
