i have red maroon colored hair.. its quite vibrant but a bit dark, what would happen if i put wellas t14 silver lady toner over it? what color would it turn?

you have to bleach your hair first with a 30 developer. a toner alone won't cover up leftover red hair dye

Hi,

So I've ombre red hair, and my red have faded quite a bit and this time i want to dye it on my own, i got a 30 developer instead of 40 as it ll be less damaging (although still damaging to the hair) with the red creme. I forgot to buy bleaching powder earlier tho. So i was wondering if it ll lift my hair color. Also whats the ratio of the creme and developer i should put?

This can be done but if you have a really dark natural hair color you may not get the desired results if you're looking really red, burgundy,magenta,fire truck even. Then with a darker hair color I'd suggest bleaching your hair first. To so its pre lightened for best results. Even if a foil highlight was done to lighten up from its natural hue to kick in the red. Also beaching roughens the hair cuticle so the red would adsorb deeper in the hair leaving it much brighter. I like my highlight idea because this would give 2 tones to the hair. It's an awesome double edge sword because this leaves a highlight and lowlight effect to the hair adding a look of dept. to the hair.

When dying over brown and blonde mixed hair, is it better to leave the dye on the blonde longer or the brown?

My hair was brown in the back and blonde in the front and I dyed it a pretty red.
My hair turned out to be two different reds, of course.
To even out the overall color, should I dye the part that was brown again, or the blonde?
The dye I use is MORE than 3 shades lighter than my natural, and I use 30 developer.
I'm going to wait a little while before trying to fix it, but what do you guys recommend?
I don't know if the brown would end up looking like a deeper red, or if it would lighten up more and get closer to the section that was blonde.
And vice versa.
Please give me some input?

I'm no expert at this, but I think I would probably just try dyeing your whole head the red color you want again. After all, I don't think it can get any more uneven from doing that.

i have brown hair and i used loreal hicolor on my hair with a 30 vol developer (mixed magenta and red) and it turned out to be a dark red. i tried it again with just red, this time using a 40 vol developer and leaving it in for about an hour and 30 minutes. it looks good, but its still dark. i want a bright red. what can i do?

did you put a pre-lightener on before you dyed your hair? i know a really good brand of dye that works like magic it's called 'schwarzkopf live colour xxl luminance' I've used it before and it always looks exactly like the box!

Dark her + 30 developer. Midway down my hair did not take as good as the first half. Should i redo t with 30 or 40?

I have never dyed my hair before and i never flat iron it. Should i just use the 40 to get the brightest I want?

What volume developer do I use for red hair dye?

Q. I have virgin black hair, meaning I've never dyed my hair before, so it is naturally black. I want to dye my hair a dark-ish red color, NOT bright fire truck red. I'm planning on getting the 'L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Red', but I don't know what developer to use to make the red a 'dark-ish red'.
So basically, do I get a 10, 20, 30, or 40 volume developer?

Also, will the 'L'Oreal Excellence HiColor Red' color eventually wash out? I will eventually want my black hair back, so I want to know if the color will eventually go away.

Negative, sweets. It's a permanent dye. Hi-lift colors such as this one lighten your virgin hair enough for it to deposit the red and for it to show. It will wash out but it will wash out to an orange/orange-yellow color. The dye that you were looking at will make your hair BRIGHT flaming red. L'Oreal has another group of colors from the same line simply called Excellence HiColor. Instead of Hicolor Hilights. You would want to go with L'Oreal Excellence Hicolor in the color Intense Red. You would need to use a 30 volume to lift it enough to show the color pretty well. You don't need to bleach the red out of you hair though to dye it back to black. Just throw black dye with a 10 volume over your hair.
