When I was younger:
Pluto used to be a planet
I had a portable CD player (No mp3)
Guys didn't have long hair or earrings (No offense to anyone if you do)
Blues Clues was my favorite show
Kids spent more time outside playing than on their iPods

3) Permed, frilly hair was "cool" as were thick ankle socks pulled over leggings and tie dye shirts
4) Cassette tapes were used
5) The first home video cameras were hulking things that you carried on your shoulder
6) Sofas either had flowery patterns or plaid patterns
7) Paneled walls were trendy
8) Mc Hammer was the God of Hip Hop
9) You could buy an ice cream from the ice cream truck for 25 cents
10) Ghost busters, She-Ra/He-man, Thunder Cats, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were the top cartoons
11) Cabbage Patch Dolls were a hit along with Teddy Ruxpin
12) Teenagers thought it was cool to say "groovy"
13) Color forms were an acceptable (not cheap), birthday present
14) Sweat bands were a fashion accessory (around head/ankle/wrist)
15) Michael Jackson's "Thriller" was Top 10 for months along with Bon Jovi and Kiss and Whitney Houston
16) Tacky Christmas Ornaments were trendy
17) The local Nestle Plant made the entire city smell like chocolate each time it rained
18) Rotary phones were a norm
19) Kids still knew how to play Red Rover and were allowed to ram the streets without worry
