OK... I know some black people with light skin, red hair, and green eyes!!!!!!!! How is this possible! I mean... It's very rare... does it mean they have irish in them or something?

Ok... there's something called a dominant genes and recessive genes, which are traits that we carry in our dna

For example, brown hair is a dominant gene, while red hair is a recessive gene. A capital 'B' stands for brown, while a small 'r' represents red. The genes are sort of in pairs...

If someone had 'BB' gene, It would mean they have brown hair. 'rr' means you will have red hair, and if you have 'Br', then you have brown hair because 'B' is the dominant gene.

Each time you give birth, each parent passes on 1/2 of the pair and they come together to give the kid 'xyz' coloured hair...

So the recessive genes are passed through generations, and occasionally, people get two recessive genes (eg, 'rr') and they can have red hair while the parents both have brown hair (but they will have the 'Br' gene). However, the children of the red head might still have different coloured hair because the other parent could have brown/blonde/someothercoloured hair (and this is how red heads are going extinct).

This applies to pretty much many different traits...

Totally possible. I know several people with red hair and green eyes. The two genes are completely unrelated and a person can have red hair with any color eyes. I have a cousin who has red hair and brown eyes. And I know a couple little kids with red hair and blue eyes. So really all three are possible, including all different shades of red. The hair is incredibly recessive, even moreso than blonde. And the eyes come from a mutation of the blue and brown genes.

You are more than likely going to have to bleach twice, and then use a toner. I used to have dark brown hair underneath platinum blonde and I wanted to dye my hair all one color. What I did was bleach my hair twice (waiting about about 5 days or so in between bleachings) and then applied a light ash blonde color and it turned out great. Since you said you've bleached your hair before you know the damage it can do, so make sure you condition regularly, and I would suggest, in between bleachings, to deep condition. Good luck!

This was actually discovered using pea plants by a scientist named Mendell (i can not recall his first name) during the 19th century. He was a priest and devoted his free time (practically his life) to unlock the secrets of heredity. Long story short, he discovered that there are actually gene pairs that consist of a dominant chromosome and an inferior chromosome, in any order. The only way in which the inferior gene can take over is by being paired with it's self, otherwise the dominant gene will portray itself. An example is the 23rd chromosomes, the X for female (inferior by definition) and the Y for male (dominant gene). If the pair contains a Y, like XY, the child is a boy. If XX, it is a girl. There is no 50-50, it is either the dominant is present and portrays itself, or it is only the inferior genes and they portray themselves.

Red Hair is an inferior gene, so both of you have to have been carriers (the technical name) of the gene, while your dominant color genes, blonde and brown, had decided yours. You had a 1 in 4 chance of having a red head, and sure enough that 25% won. She received the two inferior genes from you only.

I could go more in depth, but then everything gets a bit in depth with conception and fertilization and genetics, and I'm sure you barely read all of that! :)

You don't mind using dye for women do you? Lol. I know garnier nutrisse has an auburn colored dye. They have dark intense auburn, medium intense auburn, and light intense aurburn. I'm guessing you would want the dark intense auburn. And this brand of garnier nutrisse is for darker colored hair, so it will make your hair look lighter, and give you that hint of red as well.

Frankly, I cannot give any worthwhile advice about the story of your first chapter. The blatant spelling, punctuation, formatting, and grammatical, errors are getting in the way of the meaning.

First, you should put it through a spell checker. Paste it into Word or another word processing application, or there is a free spell checker at http://www.jspell.com/public-spell-checker.html. This will help with the spelling problems. A spell checker won't catch everything (for example, you said "three pail white things," but I think you meant to say "three pale white things.") You just need to go through it and read every word again.

You need to use proper punctuation in every piece of writing unless it is a poem. You need coherent sentences with nouns and verbs. There should be commas, quotation marks, etc. where necessary. This should go without saying.

Along with this is proper formatting. Generally, books are written in paragraphs and not disjointed sentence fragments, especially for parts with dialogue. You could also vary your sentence structure and word usage if you really want to make it sound nice.

Grammar can be difficult because there are so many rules, and most people don't know all of them. I would just advise you to read through it again and change things that sound wrong in your head. You also might try buying a basic book of grammar or looking it up online.

I know I have had a lot of criticism, but I'm guessing that this is only the first draft of your first chapter. Once you fix it up a bit in a second draft, I'm sure it will read much better.

I've been dyeing my hair for the past year, close to two years, and I really want to get it back to a healthy state. My friend told me about henna, and I want to try it.
Now I'm not sure if I want to attempt to henna it back to my natural hair color (or really close to it) which is a light brown, or if I want to henna it a dark red (my hair is a reddish color now). If I chose a light brown henna, would the red still show through? And I've been told that red henna will turn hair orange... I don't know what to buy.

Any suggestions for dark red or light brown? Either or both would be super amazing.

How can I end the FRIZZIES once and for all?

I have long (to the middle of my back) wavey red hair which is very soft and pretty in all ways but one.....I get the frizzies! My hair is thick but fine (each strand) and cut in long layers to give it fullness. But, consequently, it also gives me the frizzies on the top layer which drives me mad. Can any of you gals relate? Who knows, maybe some guys would know too. Men make great hairdressers! Someone, PLEASE help!

To get rid of frizz, use a good frizz-free shampoo and conditioner. I recommend either Herbal Essences or Pantene- the frizz-free kind of course!

What is the best product to strip your hair with?

I am a natural blonde. I dyed my hair dark a few months ago and I hate it. I hate it so much that I avoid the mirror as much as possible. My hair color is a medium brown now. I have bought all the supplies I would need at Sally's. I have watched hundreds of youtube videos so I think I know what I am doing.

I am planning on stripping my hair first then bleaching it once in one day. Then I'm going to wait several days to a week to bleach it again. Then if I need to bleach it again, I will wait about a week before doing it again. After I get the color I want, I plan on deep conditioning my hair a lot as well as cut my hair (My hair is halfway down my back, I will cut it to my shoulders).

Please do not tell me that I shouldn't do this because it won't matter.

Now what I was wondering, would color oops or color zap hair stripper be better? I've bought the color zap, but I've heard a lot of horror stories about it.

You can do one of two things, to remove most of that dye.
1. By using Tide detergent with shampoo
Google "How to Remove Dye from Hair"

or

2. By shampooing you hair mix with a bit of Dawn.
Google "How to Use Dawn Dishwashing Liquid for Lightening Hair."

You can also use anti-dandruff shampoo, just not the conditioner.

As far as I know, all color removers will damage your hair because they all have color stripping chemicals in them. If you've dyed your hair black after it was ginger/ blonde then you're going to need a dye remover with some bleach in it, which can be very damaging to your hair.

It is hard to suggest cuts without seeing a face:) I don't know if it would work for you, but I just love an uneven bob, where the hair is longer in the front. I dyed my hair purple (with Special Effects dye) a few months ago thinking it would fade really fast like it usually does, but instead the color held really good on my ends...
Well, my roots have grown in and the top is sorta an orange/red color fading into a deep purple...
I want to fade the purple on my ends so i can dye my hair without having 30 different shades in my hair... But i do not want to bleach my hair.
So does anyone have any tips on how to make hair dye fade faster without bleaching?

lemon juice and a hair dryer!!! seriously..im from a surfing town and all the other kids had blond hair because they would surf all year round!!i didnt..use a lemon rub it on and sit in the sun or use the hairdryer to activate the lemon juice!!

Of course you can! You know what's funny, I used the same EXACT hair dye on my hair. Although I have medium-dark brown hair and it worked great! So you'll definitely be able, too. Except, I have to warn you that it only comes with a little bit of hair dye. If you have long or semi-thick hair, I'd suggest you buy two boxes and try to cover your whole head without wasting a lot in one spot. Because if you run out, you're doomed! So just put a little in an area at once, then when you are done with that, go back and do a second coat. Oh, and also, another warning, that stuff washes out like crazy and fades in a week! Wait at least a couple days till you wash your hair again after you first dye and buy a shampoo and conditioner for dyed-red hair. They have it at places where they sell lots of hair care products like Sally's. It helps make it last a lot longer.

Do you have to re-use a developer when your red hair color fades to get it the same color?

no. if your developer is over 10 vol then it is lightening your hair, and if on the first dye it has been lightened enough, when you redye you should be using either the same dye with a low vol developer like 10 vol, or a vegetable dye (like special effects or directions)
it depends on what red you are going for but it you want proper red then i suggest affinage bred for your hair the first time then just the roots and use a vegetable dye to rede the fading parts

I used a temporary hair color (red) that was supposed to wash out after 8 to 12 shampoos, but after 3 weeks or more it still hasn't washed out completely. My roots are still red! Does anyone have a cheap or easy solution to get it to come out of my roots? I don't want to spend a lot of money having the salon help me with this problem. I've washed my hair twice a day hoping that would help and it hasn't.

I'm assuming you have very light hair--red is notorious for washing out quickly because the pigment molecules are so big that they can't fully penetrate the hair shaft, so this is a very rare problem.

Anyway, ideally you should really go to a salon to strip your hair, but if you want to DIY, there IS a way to do it (but proceed with caution)

Go to a beauty supply store, get powdered bleach and a 10 volume developer and a shade of neutral toner.

Firstly, try the toner; it may counteract the red enough so you won't have to use the bleach. If it doesnt work, apply to your roots and be VERY vigilant about how fast the bleach is working. It'll get the red out, but you don't want to overbleach your roots, either--it'll look weird. To finish, tone the roots.

For future reference, if you have very light hair it doesnt matter if a color is permanent or wash out; it'll tend to stick around for awhile.

So I have medium brown hair and I put dark red temporary dye in my hair around August of 2011, and you can still see the section of where I dyed it red. How can I get it out so I can have my natural color back? P.S. that is the only time I've EVER dyed my hair and its just a little section.

crush up 30 vitamin c tablets and mix with shampoo and apply to dry hair where the color is. leave on for 2 hours then wash out. keep doing this for a few days

I have ebony relaxed hair. I use bold beautiful hair color (rinse) light ash brown to cover my gray hair. I accidentally used dark ash brown which left my hair color too dark. I then used the light ash brown which turn my hair green. Can anyone tell me how to get the geen out without damaging my hair any further.

Toner alone (without developer) won't damage it any further. It will layer more color on, and you need to be under a dryer for 10 minutes for it to saturate the hair shaft. To get the green neutralized, you may have to use a red/golden base toner.

You may need to see a professional.

How do I make my red hair colour warmer without dyeing it again?

I dyed my hair a warm copper red, but it turned out as a cherry, violet, cool shade of red instead. How can I add a bit of warmth to my hair colour without buying yet another box of hair dye. Are there copper rinses or anything like that?

I don't believe so. You can try highlighting, or maybe using henna, but I suppose that still counts as dyeing. If I were you, I would wait another week (at least. Dyeing hair so closely together is never a good idea.), then use a red dye that specifically says 'warm'. L'Oreal sells these. Their "Feria" haircolor line has different shades that are categorized as "warm", "cool", or "neutral." They have very pretty, prismatic dyes that almost seem highlighted, due to the tones the dyes offer.

No, Ireland is not a official character as of yet! But Scotland has a fanmade character design that's well known. He has dark red hair...I'm pretty positive that in the anime there are no red-headed characters... This question is just for fun. I'm 21 weeks pregnant and was daydreaming about what the baby will look like. It's a girl.

My husband and I both have blue eyes. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but I think blue is a recessive trait so would that mean our baby has to (or is very likely to) have blue eyes?

As for the red hair, my dad had red hair that turned brown once he got into his 30s. I was born with bright red hair that has since turned to a darker strawberry blonde (I'm 24). My husband has brown hair, but when he grows his beard it has some red in it. His brother and sister both have red hair. I'm not sure what color his parents hair was originally. His dad has gray hair now and his mom colors her hair.

So if you had to guess, what color hair and eyes do you think our girl will have?

You are correct in saying that blue eyes are recessive - so it is very likely your child will have blue eyes. (there are many genes for eye colour - no eyes are exactly one colour - take a closer look you will probably see flecks of brown or green aswell, so this could also determine the child's eyes)

As your husband is a carrier of the "red hair gene" by the sounds of it, and you probably have it too (not sure what causes the discolouration of it, i think it is a loss of pigments like when hair turns grey?) it is fairly likely your girl will have red hair too - but it is likely it will follow the same trait as yours and your dads. If you are both carriers of "red hair gene", there is a one in four chance of red hair in your child. If you have the dominant allele and your husband is a carrier, there is one in two chance of your child having red hair.
This is just from my knowledge of biology and genetics - currently doing second year of A2 biology :-)
