I would prefer brands found in your drugstore but speciality stores are ok too. I want a new look- i need foundation, concealer, gloss, eye shadow, hair products, and everything.

Answer
Hey girl!
Here's what I would recommend:

1. No matter what your age, always invest in some good cleansers, toners (yes!), and moisturizers. They will always work together to help give you a beautiful glowing envy-worthy skin. This you're going to have to look around and search for in your own time depending on your skin type. As I have oily skin, I use Clean&Clear Morning Burst cleanser, Artistry toner for oily skin, and Clean&Clear Shine Control Moisturizer.

2. Foundation (optional); tinted moisturizer. I would personally recommend a tinted moisturizer over foundation, since it's a lot less work and combines two steps in one! But if you find you desire more coverage than a tinted moisturizer (Almay smart shade, $11.19, any drugstore; Estee Lauder DayWear Plus Multi Protection Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15, $35, Macy's ) provides, try a foundation instead: Maybelline Pure Makeup, ~$6, drugstore; L'Oreal True Match foundation, $10, drugstore (I would personally recommend this- it has a great range of shades and kind of light while providing medium-full coverage); Estee Lauder Individualist, $32.50, Macy (this is what I use, and l-o-v-e; it feels like a second skin, literally).

3. Concealer/powder. What would us women do without concealers? I shudder to think. Neutrogena Skin Smoothing Stick, ~$7, drugstore. One of the best concealers I've tried. Physician's formula make equally good ones (and about equally priced as well- also found in drugstores). Also, try Neutrogena 3-in-1 undereye concealer for those pesky undereye circles! Take a look at some of the Physician's formula powders as well- there are a whole multitude of them, each one better than the next- once again, you'll have to find one to suit your needs. Use the powder to set your foundation and concealer.

4. Blush. Every girl requires a little bit of color to boost her complexion (and confidence) on those off days. Pair up with a bronzer (Maybelline dream mousse, $6, drugstore), or wear alone to achieve pink flushed cheeks (Maybelline dream mousse Pink Frosting/ Whipped Strawberries, $6, drugstore). If you prefer powder blushes instead, try Red Earth or Smashbox (both are found at Ulta, and are slightly pricy); L'Oreal true match blush or Blush Delice are wonderful as well, ~$6, drugstore. Swipe or dab a small amount on cheeks and blend, and watch those cheeks turn irresistably rosy.

5. Eyeliner/mascara. Whatever suits your fancy- I generally only wear one. But for that cute girl look, I'd suggest LashExact paired with VolumeExact by Covergirl (drugstore, $6 each), for beautifully long voluminous lashes. If you prefer eyeliner, try L'Oreal Line Intensifique (liquid eyeliner, $7, drugstore). CoverGirl has some great eyeliners too! I believe keeping in trend with this season, L'Oreal H.i.P cream eyeliner should be fun and flirty, and about the only accessory in your makeup bag (for eyeliners that is) to work with!

6. Eyeshadow. Go nude or shimmery. I'd recommend N.Y.C. shimmer pots in pink or champagne ($4, drugstore); sweep lightly for that princess look or layer for more drama. Or try L'Oreal's H.i.P collection eyeshadows- just like MAC only at half the price!

7. Lipgloss. Maybelline's Shiny-licious in Berry-bella is not too pink, not too dark. A perfect berry pink. ($6, drugstore) Or, if you prefer lipstick over lipgloss, try L'Oreal H.i.P lipstick in Moxie- it is a perfect dark berry (more mauve than berry) shade for every woman out there!

8. Rice paper (Palladio) oil-blotting sheets. Carry them around to keep that shine at bay! Found practically everywhere (can't remember the price though...sorry!).

And there you go! Those are the essentials I recommend for creating any kind of look. Hope this helps :)

P.S. if you feel this isn't what you wanted, you can check out my best answers: What's in your perfect makeup bag by celebratedsummer to find out what I carry around in my makeup bag- it's a lot more lengthy and in depth, complete with shades (but not prices), and most of the products I bought at Sephora (you can check out their website for the prices if you like).

what could be these little skin colored bumps around my genitals?

Mileigh

okay so i have little red or skin colored bumps around my genitals and i think it might be herpes but i'm afraid to ask my mom, so i wanted to find out some information before i presented this problem at the table, can anyone provide me with some help.. please!

Answer
It could be Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS), which some doctors call an ingrown hair (but they really don't know the individual cause), just that there are several treatments that may or may not work.

It could be an STD like herpes or genital warts, but that really depends on how sexually active you are and how cautious you are when active.

HS occurs in people between the ages of 17 and 50 but can happen to any age. HS is not just present in men, women can get this too. It is similar to a pimple (and some treatments are prescription acne solutions), but it can be hard to get rid of and could always return or even spread through a tunneling effect. Usually a Dermatologist and/or a Urologist (because of where it is located in your case) are the people to see to determine if it is. The most common fix for HS is opening the bump with outpatient surgery and allowing the area to re-heal itself. But as stated, this does not mean they could not return and the surgery could lay-you-up for a week while you heal.

Go see a doctor. If you have to tell your mom, just tell her you have something in a private area that you are concerned with and need to see a doctor to alleviate your concern. If she respects your privacy she will leave it at that. Of course, she will be concerned too and ask you questions, but just tell her you're not comfortable talking about it until you know for sure what it is. Start with a family doctor or prescribing nurse (Certified Nurse Practitioner). Also make sure you think you will be more comfortable having a male or female doctor looking at you there.

What process is used to color Dark brown hair to bright vibrant red?

vibrant red hair color image

Amber L

My natural color is a medium/dark brown. About a month ago, I had my hair colored a darker brown so that it looked almost black, with bright red highlights. It looked good for about a week, then the red highlights on the sides and top started fading and now, they are a gold color. However the back is still the vibrant red that it started out with. I was thinking having my hair colored JUST THE RED. What process would have to be used to color the dark brown---which is still really dark---to make it red throughout?

Answer
Now, if I understand you correctly, you want to go ALL red, and if that's so, then in order to really achieve that without an orangy or brassy look, you will have to lift the brown from your hair, you can do it without really frying your hair, there are different stages of lifting, speak with a professional about lifting your brown and then use either deposit-only red, which won't last as long but is less damaging, or use permanent with a higher stage of color, and just so you know, red is the hardest color to keep in, it fades and washes out faster than any color there is, so use a REALLY good color shampoo and conditioner with sunscreen, my faves are Rene Furterer Okara Shampoo and Conditioner, and also Pureology NanoWorks Color Care, google them they are expensive but SOOOO worth it. My color doesn't come out at all anymore because I bought both, the Rene smells good, the Pureology Nano fills in your hair where it is breaking and keeps it really healthy looking, both are wonderful for keeping color in, I only have to dye my hair now when the roots are noticeable, and I don't have to put color on color anymore to refresh the color, it just doesn't fade. I would definitely lift that brown though, because you don't want to keep putting color on color, it will leave your hair feeling very rough and the cuticle will be a mess, and also it will eventually leave stripes on your head from it growing out, being colored, being colored again, etc., instead of looking evenly colored. Good luck, post us a pic when you finish!

Find a really dark vibrant super red color. Dye it a few times and you will need to dye it every month to keep it from going ginger. Basically find the red color you want and dye your hair until it becomes that color.

I was just wondering, because I just read an article about Neanderthals having red hair. In the article, it's mentioned that modern-day descendants of Celts often have red hair. Are all red-haired people of Celtic extraction?

Answer
nope . . . this is funny since i just answered another question relating to red hair.

"National Geographic, however, estimates that 2% of the world's population are redheads (September, 2007). It occurs mainly in northern and western European populations, and their descendants, and at low frequencies throughout other parts of Europe, Asia and Africa. "

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_hair

red hair is often found in Celtic populations, but it's certainly not limited to them. it's been found in China, Japan, Iran, Russia, the Nordic countries, Ashkenazi Jews, the South Pacific & Africa. most of these people are in no way related to the Celts, nor can they all be ruled out by random genetic mutations.

". Eighty percent of redheads have a MC1R gene variant,[10] and the prevalence of these alleles is highest in Scotland and Ireland"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_hair#Biochemistry_and_genetics

so while Celts do have a higher than average tendency towards being red-heads, it isn't limited to them.

How would Neanderthals evolved if they did not go extinct?

Rudy

If Neanderthals overpowered humans and they did not go extinct and continued to evolve, how would it function, look, and would it be smarter then us?
Also, if we were to breed humans that shared genetic code could we create a neanderthal hybrid offspring?

Answer
It's impossible to know, since it didn't happen, but it's thought that Neanderthals would have been of stockier build, would have had red hair, and would have spoken with more nasally voices. Otherwise, they were pretty comparable to archaic homo sapiens sapiens, and had they survived instead of modern humans, they probably would have evolved pretty comparably.

The notion that Neanderthals were "smarter" than us is a bit of a misunderstanding, actually. Neanderthals had a slightly higher cranial capacity than Homo sapiens sapiens, but this would not have made them "smarter" necessarily. Size alone does not account for cognitive ability. Einstein, for instance, had an average-sized cranial capacity. Artifactual evidence suggests if anything that Neanderthals were less adept at making tools than homo sapiens sapiens, as their tools tended to be less well-developed and as they never managed to create the atlatl, or spear thrower, which would have allowed them to hunt game from far away. As it was, Neanderthals had to come close up to animals if they wanted to hunt, which resulted in a lot of fractures and possibly deaths.

As to the question of genetics:
It's probable that Neanderthals and Homo sapiens sapiens had the biological ability to interbreed. The taxonomy, however, is under debate. Some scientists feel that Neanderthals represent a separate species of the genus Homo, others label Neanderthals only a subspecies of Homo Sapiens, and still others claim that Neanderthals represent only local variations on Homo Sapiens. There is some evidence of interbreeding, but none of it is fool proof. There are several skeletons that appear to have traits from both Homo sapiens and Neanderthals, but there is always variation within a species and phenotype is not proof of genotype. More persuasively, however, the Neanderthal genome has been mapped within the last two years or so and does show that European and Asian populations do share some DNA with Neanderthals. It's thought that this is because Neanderthals and homo sapiens interbred when both (sub)species inhabited the Middle East area. However, it's possible that the shared DNA just represents the shared ancestry that Neanderthals and Homo Sapiens had.

Can someone recommend a dark-red hair dye?

PrincessSm

I'd like for my hair to go dark red. I don't want it a red like Rihanna's ( if that's how you spell her name) I'd like it to be a dark red that could almost pass for dark brown (like when someone doesn't realize until they actually look at me that my hair is red (ignore this if you don't know what I mean)). I guess a deep red that only shows the red in light. I have a hard time explaining it. It does not need to be a natural looking hair color. Almost like this:

My natural hair color is red. 1 year ago I dyed it dark brown and kept it that way for about a year. Then the ombre hairstyles started to become a big trend and I wanted my hair to go from dark brown to blonde so I added blonde to the bottom. I was wondering how I could go about going back to my natural red hair without it totally ruining my hair??

Answer
im a hairdresser and been every colour under the sun... and had my hair in awful condition.
if you want to keep your hair in good condition i would stay away from bleaching/effasor.
i would start using vosence Original/ head and shoulder shampoo or washing up liquid is also as good this will strip any pigments in your hair out in a nice process as shampoo's are acid's so there more gentle. bleach and effasor is alkaline and eventually lead to hair breakage. if you worry when your roots come through go the hairdressers and get high lights which match your roots running through your hair. to break it up. also having regular cuts will help the growing and condition. hope this helps

I want to get bright red streaks in my hair but the only bright red hair dye I can find is red Splat hair dye. I used Splat hair dye before and the red turned light orange in under 3 weeks. I want to use a brand that will last a longer time and isn't too expensive.

Answer
Honestly, I turned my hair fire engine red before on accident, but here's a surprising way I did it!

First, I used a highlighting kit to bleach streaks out.
Then, I decided I didn't like it so I covered over it with Revlon Light Auburn (May have been bright auburn) hair dye. It was about 4 bucks from Walmart.
It turned fire engine red on the streaks.

And the color lasted about three months!
That's an odd way to do it, but it worked for me. Hope that helps. I don't know what else you would like, because personally, I hate manic panic. And rave.

Good luck!

For Halloween I'm looking to dye my hair red, but I don't want to be stuck with red hair for a couple of weeks. I've heard of 1 day hair dye, and I was wondering if anyone knew if a good 1 day red hair dye product existed. I'm also curious if this actually doesn't exist if anyone knows of a dye that would only last for a few days.

Thanks.

Answer
You can buy a bottle of red hair gel. Try this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Punk-MANIC-PANIC-VAMPIRE-DEEP-RED-Hair-dye-GEL_W0QQitemZ230384092537QQcmdZViewItem

The manic panic store is sold out right now, so you have to buy it from an alternative seller.

Or, they probably sell some of a different brand in walmart. However, I -do not- recommend trying the red hair spray they sell for halloween. That stuff just gags you and does absolutely nothing.

Is there really a laser hair removal that works on red hair?

red hair follicles
 on Folliculitis | Health | Patient.co.uk
red hair follicles image

Fitzgurl

Im really interested in getting laser hair removal but i have red hair and fairly tan skin. i have heard there is a new technology, ELOS technology, that works for any hair color and any skin color. Has anyone tried this with red or blonde hair and had good results?

Answer
Nope... doesn't work on blonde or red sorry

Okay... science answer:

You grow in at least 80% of your hair during puberty. When you have laser hair removal the hairs it kills will never grow again. But you still have up to 20% of your normal thickness that will grow in throughout the rest of your life. So people get touch up sessions every 3-5 years after their big 6 treatments. You need about 6 treatments, one each 2 months for a year, because the hair grows in different stages and it can only kill hair in the active growth stage. The laser works by targeting dark color (the hair follicle) and passing through light color (the skin) the hair and skin have to be very different shades of color for the hair to work. The darker and coarser the hair and lighter the skin, the better results you will have.

Okay... Personal Experience:

I've had 2 out of my 6 treatments so far. It HURTS! It's like being poked with a sewing needle over and over, but it's not as painful as a tattoo, and that's not as painful as childbirth, maybe that can put the pain in perspective for you =) I've had my legs, underarms, and bikini area done. When you get your bikini area done they do ALL of it! Including spreading your butt and vaginal lips apart to laser all the cracks... It's sorta awkward. After the 2 treatments I've had so far I've lost about 60% of leg hair, 40% bikini hair, and 25% underarms hair. It's because the underarms hair is the thinnest and the leg hair is the coarsest. But the legs are the most painful. The more it hurts the better it works.
I spent this much for 6 treatments in each area:
Bikini-$750
Underarms-$750
Legs (toes to bikini)-$2,500

Email me if you have any more questions about it!

Why do I get little red dots on my legs after I shave?

They're not razor bumps. They're not like pimples. Just the skin around my hair follicles turn red I guess. What do I do to get rid of this? I want smooth looking legs. And they don't look smooth when they do this.

Answer
Probably shaving burns. Try applying moisturizers. Let the burns heal first before shaving again.

If you want smooth legs in an instant but are too lazy to shave, simply pull on a pair of pantyhose.

What color clothing will look good with my unnaturally red hair?

thalya

Okay so in my last question some one gave me advice as to what colors would look good with my red hair. The color that i have literally looks like a red crayola crayon. The girl had said that black, white, navy and dark green would look good with my hair. what other colors do you think would look nice? I have tan skin too. (if that helps out some how)

Answer
You sound really pretty. Hahahaa.(: I wouldn't wear black close to your face: choose tops and accessories in natural, earth tones such as dark and olive greens, beiges, browns, golds, camel and even orange reds. Black is OK to wear on skirts and trousers. If you have a black jacket that you like, don't worry: you can always brighten it up with a shawl in the colors mentioned above. Purple, bright red, navy and pink are also on the no-no list and should probably be avoided. There is in fact a whole debate going on between stylists as to whether the clash between red hair and colors such as pink or purple is fashionable or tacky. Pale pink, for example, may suit dark redheads but looks edgy and "loud" on women with a more copper-colored 'do.

In the end, it's a matter of each and every woman's taste - but as an overall piece of advice, avoid such colors unless you're looking to make sure every eye is on you at a party or on an evening out with your friends. If you do want to wear pink, for example, make sure you go for a more intense or darker shade of pink for the bottom half and a lighter shade for your top. Pink accessories are not a good idea. And remember the golden rule: if in doubt, don't wear it(: Hope this helped.

How often can I color my hair, and what do I do about my roots in the meantime?

red hair color hot roots image

magistra_l

I color my hair a dark auburn-red color that is quite attractive when the color is fresh and for a couple of weeks thereafter. When my brown and gray roots start becoming noticeable, however, it doesn't look quite as hot. Moreover, because red hair color tends to fade more noticeably than other hair colors, I almost always have to freshen up my overall color (by spreading the dye around to the ends for the last 10 minutes) when I touch-up my roots.

I wish I could color every 3-4 weeks, but I'm afraid to color my hair more often than every 5-6 weeks. Is coloring hair more frequently than that damaging? How often can you safely color your hair?

What can you do about roots in the meantime? Can you rotate permanent with non-permanent dye? Are there any good products you can use to temporarily color roots? (I apply a tinted toner called "Stay Red" to visible roots after washing my hair, but it's hard to apply. I wish they had a mascara-type applicator.)

Thanks for the tips!

Answer
your colorist will tell you how often you should color safely. there is something called hair mascara that will fill in your roots. red dye molecules are HUGE compared to our hairs, thats why it comes out so easy. use shampoo specifically for red hair.

What is the hottest hair color for a white girl?

Q. I have always heard guys think girls with blonde hair is hot! I am wondering if this is true! Which is hotter a brunette or a blonde? If you think neither of these colors make a girl hot what color is hot on a white girl?

Answer
Deep rich red/auburn is so alluring and sexy on the right type of girl.

You could always try going the Demi Moore route and try dying your hair black, though be very careful because you could end up looking goth.

Platinum Blonde is out! Now people are favoring rich golden honey blondes and dirty blonde.

Brunette IS the new blonde as someone mentioned. Think about all the stars that are going brunette, it's got a mysterious and lusious effect and it's perfect for almost all people!

If your decision is between blonde and brunette, here are some things to keep in mind. Dying your hair darker is easier and generally better for your hair, and roots won't show as easily. Dying your hair blonde could be very drying if you're hair is currently darker, blonde hair gives a carefree, girl-next-door quality, a la Jessica Simpson. While darker hair has a more mysterious and sexy appeal a la Angelina Jolie. You could also try going both ways and getting brown hair with blonde hilights like Micha Barton and Jennifer Aniston.

In the end it's all how you see yourself and what the tones of your skin are.

What hair/eye color is made fun of the most? Why do people make fun of that specific hair/eye color?

Answer
Green eyes and red hair.

People used to think they were the devils >:)
Lol:)

What is your favorite color for these things?

toomuchdis

Would just like to know what your favorite hair color, eye color, and color are.
My favorite color is actually emerald green. My favorite hair color is red hair. And, my favorite eye color is green, green blue, or amber.

Answer
Hair: anything dark, so brown or black. There should be a contrast between skin color and hair color.
And hair should always, always, ALWAYS be darker than skin. Please no fake orange tans with dyed bleach blonde hair. God didn't mess up when he gave us our natural hair color.

Eyes: Any color out of the ordinary. I find light brown or amber eyes attractive, but not the dull, muddy brown. I'm not a big fan of blue either, unless they are piercing and intense. Baby blues don't catch my attention. Green, gray, and anything else in between is perfect.

And my favorite color in general is maroon, or burgundy. It is cousins with purple but more closely resembles red. I love wearing this color, painting it on my nails, etc. It is sophisticated and elegant. This color compliments almost anybody.

How can I enhance my Natural hair colour without dye?

I have a sort of light red-ish brown hair colour (it's hard to explain) but I'd like it to be more on the red side. How can I enhance the red in my hair without using permanent dye. I've already tried the "red" shampoos and they don't have enough impact. what else can I use?

Answer
hello there,
in here you can learn more about red hair:

"The pigment pheomelanin gives red hair its distinctive color. Red hair has far more pheomelanin than other hair colors, but far less of the dark pigment eumelanin. Auburn hair has both high levels of pheomelanin and eumelanin.

The genetics of red hair, discovered in 1997, appears to be associated with the melanocortin-1 receptor (MC1R), which is found on chromosome 16. Red hair is associated with fair skin color due to low concentrations of eumelanin. This lower melanin-concentration has the advantage that a sufficient concentration of important Vitamin D can be produced under low light conditions. However, when the UV-radiation is strong (like in the regions close to the equator) the lower concentration of melanin leads to several medical disadvantages - one of them is the higher rate of skin cancer.

The MC1R recessive variant gene, which gives people red hair and fair skin, is also associated with freckles, though it is not uncommon to see a redhead without freckles. Eighty percent of redheads have an MC1R gene variant,[13] and the prevalence of these alleles is highest in Scotland and Ireland. The alleles that code for red hair occur close to the alleles that impact skin color, so it seems that the phenotypic expression for lighter skin and red hair are interrelated.

Red hair can originate from several different changes on the MC1R-gene. If one of these changes is present on both chromosomes then the respective individual is likely to have red hair. This type of inheritance is described as an autosomal recessive mode of inheritance. Even if both parents may not have red hair themselves they both can be carriers for the gene and have a redheaded child. (red hair genetics)." in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_hair

How can I get my hair to stay dark brown?

puttputt

My natural hair color is a level 5 or 4 brown, but I dyed it blonde for awhile and now no permanent brown dye will really "stick" to my hair. It seems to wash out within two weeks even though it's permanent and should last at least six. I do not want to go to a salon, I have had this problem before and their expensive "permanent" dyes never last more than a week. How can I get my hair dark brown again and get it to stay that way? I don't want to dye my hair anymore after this.
Also, I dyed my hair black once before and couldn't even STRIP that stuff out.... I can't win?

Answer
Wow!! you sound like me lol anyway use Preference by Loreal use a light brown then after about a week use deeper brown yeah I've dyed my hair close in time I know but it worked I'm a natural Chestnut color but have been shades of blonde red black Oh I know what you're saying this should work though stay away from Nice N Easy they don't work good at all I found

Answer
You should have a list of things ready that you are going to need to know. This is an example of one:

# Parentsâ names
# Childrenâs names, ages, birth dates, height, weight, hair and eye color (in case children get lost)
# Address of the house
# Nearest intersections/directions to the house (in case it is necessary to give directions to emergency services)
# Phone numbers at the house
# Name and phone of family doctor or pediatrician
# Emergency services number (usually 911)
# Nationwide poison control hotline: 1-800-222-1222
# Location of exits
# Location of first aid supplies/first aid chart
# Location of fire extinguisher, flashlights
# Cell phone/pager number for parents
# Name and phone for neighbors and for close relatives -include a few, in case some contacts are not at home
# Food and drug allergies
# Special medical information, such as asthma, etc.
# Where you will beâname, address and phone number
# What you are wearing or other identifiers
# Time you will be home
# Childrenâs bedtimes and bedtime routine
# Any food or drink to be given to the children
# Medicationsâname, time last given, time next dose due, amount to give (dose)
# Never to shake a baby or young child
# How to calm the baby if crying or colicky
# How to handle misbehavior
# Any other special instructions

You also need a checklist as well:

# Before you accept a job, make sure you find out what is expected of you and that you are comfortable with it.
# Learn first aid and CPR. Find a CPR course near you. Take the American Red Cross babysitter class if you are aged 12-15.
# Allow time before the parents leave to get all the instructions and information you need.
# Make sure you have all the emergency information you needâyou could even bring your own checklist (see above).
# Meet the family pets.
# Put babies to sleep on their backs-not on their sides or tummies-to lower the risk of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.
# Never shake a baby or young child. Even children as old as five can be seriously injured by shaking. Find out from the parents what to do if the baby wonât stop crying.
# Donât give the kids medicine, food or drink unless instructed to by the parents.
# If you are instructed to feed the children, make sure you are familiar with food safety guidelines. You need to know how to prevent choking and food poisoning and how to feed baby safely.
# Keep doors and windows lockedâlock the door after the parents leave.
# Turn on outside lights in the evening.
# If the kids are asleep, check on them every 15 minutes.
# Donât leave the house with the kids unless you have permission.
# Keep doors locked while you are outside.
# If something looks strange or out of place when you return, do not go inside. Instead, go to a neighborâs house and call the police.
# Donât let anyone in the house unless you personally know him or her.
# If someone comes to the door and you are suspicious, or if you suspect a prowler, call the police at 911.
# Never identify yourself as the sitter on the phone, instead, say the parent canât come to the phone and take a message to have them call back.
# Donât tie up the phone, in case the parents are trying to call.
# Donât have friends over while you are working.
# Be alert for potentially dangerous items or situations in the home.
# Never leave a kid alone in the bathtub, not even for just a second.
# Be prepared for a fire: know all the ways out of the house. Get the kids out immediately, staying close to the floor, and do not open a door if it is hot. Once you are out of the burning house, call for help from a neighbor's, and do not go back in for any reason. Want to learn more about sitter fire safety?
# Make sure you have safe escort home.
# If your employer seems drunk or is acting strange, donât let them take you home. Instead, call home and have someone come and get youâtrust your instincts on this.
# The American Red Cross website has babysitter safety tips and printable materials to use on the job.

Hope this helps and good luck! :)

I'm a hair-dye virgin. What do I need to know?

Kelsey lov

I'm going to dye my hair a burgundy red. Which brand lasts the longest? Something I can purchase at Sally's, Ulta, or the local drugstore for under 30 dollars. I know I need to avoid washing, and probably use a dry shampoo, but use cold water when I do need to wash it.
So basically, what can I do to make the color stay longer, and what brand lasts longest anyways?
Thanks a bunch.

Answer
Go for the Ion brand at sally's. it doesn't come in a box so you'll have to get the individual things yourself, but it's really not that difficult.

Go in, get a box of the cream dye. Look at the hair swatches they'll have to decide which color of burgundy you want, they have quite a few options. Get the one you like best. If your hair is lighter than the shade you want, pick up a bottle of level 10 developer - they're purple, and usually right below the dye boxes. If your hair is darker, then you'll need to determine what level it is, which you can do by looking at the swatches there, finding which one matches your hair color the closest. The number on it it is your hair color level. Open up the box, and there should be a chart inside that tells you what strength developer you'll need to go from your current level to your desired level. Get a bottle to mix it all together (or a bowl and brush if you prefer), and some gloves. Pick up a protein pack for 99 cents at the counter, especially if you're going lighter, to repair the damage.

Go home. Mix the dyes together in a 1:1 ratio. Leave it in for the time specified on the instructions.

After you wash it out, put on the protein pack and leave it for 10 minutes.

Afterwards, to make it last longer...
rinse your hair in cold water
only wash it every other day/as few times as you can get away with
use a color safe shampoo
Get a nice conditioner - healthy hair has smoother cuticles that hold in the dye longer and will make your hair look shinier which helps it look not as faded, too.

This brand of dye is cheap, lasts a long time as it's professional quality, and if you ever want to bleach it out it doesn't contain metallic salts that will ruin your hair like many of the cheaper box dyes. I used a box dye once and hated it - lasted a week only and was a horrible dull color. This stuff is the best, I only use it anymore.

Answer mine please?

I've been dying my hair a very red hair color (Loreal Paris Feria, Ruby Red) and it fades in about a week or two and it dries my hair out. How do I prevent it from doing this or at least make it last a little longer?

People have told me to use shampoo and conditioner without sulfate. If that's the case, what would you recommend if you use that?

I love this color and I want to keep it! Thank you!

Answer
Its fading due to dryness (which you already know because your hair is dry right now, lol). To prevent this you should use shampoos and conditioners formulated for color treated hair and moisturize it intensely. I can not stress that enough.

MOISTURE MOISTURE MOISTURE.

I suggest Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo and Conditioner. Also, Tresemme Naturals Moisturizing Shampoo and Condish. The Shampoo contains low sulfates.

I also recommend deep conditioning treatments like Aussie 3 min deeeeeep conditioner and Aussie Moist conditioner. Leave in conditioners help as well.

Also, if you MUST wash your hair every other day and can not avoid it, skip the shampoo and use conditioner instead. This is known as "co-washing". Then at the end of the week use shampoo to get all the gunk out and use conditioner afterwards.

Homemade conditioners are great too. Mix one egg, honey, olive oil(or coconut oil) and mayo. Keep it in for 10-15 mins under a shower cap to allow heat to generate from your scalp. This opens up the cuticles and allow it to penetrate deeper.

And if you want more red without the dryness try Hibiscus Tea/Powder. Hibiscus is known to enhance/create red tones. The tea you can buy at stores. After making it allow it to cool. Pour it over your hair, keep it in for 30 mins to an hour and rinse. As for the powder, add conditioner to it and use it like a mask. Keep it in for as long as you like before rinsing it out. The good thing is, no matter how long you leave it in (unlike hair dye) it wont damage your hair. Leave it in over night if you like and then wash it out the next day.

What color would look good with my natural red hair?

Q. I have naturally red hair that I don't want to completely dye but I would like some change. I've had blonde highlights and brown lowlights before but now I'm considering dying the tips of my hair blue or maybe another bright, funky color. However, since my hair is already kind of funky on its own, I'm worried I'll look like a clown with another vivid color in my hair. Suggestions, tips, advice welcome...thanksss =)

Answer
yeah i'd just stick with the red hair if i was you. i know how you feel though, i lot of times i get an urge to dye portions my hair or get highlights and stuff and on a whim i do it but it really doesn't end up looking good and once it's done i get really upset with myself for changing my hair because no matter what i think its going to turn out like it looks different. i wouldn't do it if i was you, but if you really want to try it i'd go to a drug store or something and get the hair color dye that you want and get a dye that washes out in like 2 washes or something like that, and put it in your hair on a friday and see how it looks and that way if it looks bad you can just wash it out over the weekend, but if it looks good and you really like it you can get stuff that will stay in longer or go to a hairstylist and get it done for you. Hope i helped! Answer my question? :)

I've always wanted red hair, but I've heard it fades really fast so that's why I haven't done it, cause I don't want to have to dye my hair a lot to keep the color vibrant. So I was just wondering how quickly red hair fades?

Answer
I have dark strawberry blonde hair and I really hate it, so I dye my hair red. The red colour molecule fades most quickly because it is the shortest/weakest wavelength of colour. If you use a commercial cemical dye, the red will be too bright, will look ridiculous, and will be monochromatic with little shine after a week. It will look really fake and not beautiful, and as it fades, it will turn a rancid shade of brassy orange or even pink. Alternatively, you can use henna. Henna is extremely good for your hair. Whereas chemical dyes fade in a few weeks, Henna can last for about 3-4 months, depending on how fast your roots start showing too much. I used to use chemicals, but now I use henna. What IS henna? It's a plant that when mixed with lemon juice and left for 12 hours in a warm place (on top of fridge) activates and is ready to put on hair and skin. To use it on your hair, brush it out and section it. Put vaseline on the parts of your skin and ears closest to hairline. Pull and squeeze the Henna paste through the sections of hair, then, when all is coated, pile it on top of your head and wrap plastic wrap around your head. Leave on for 4-6 hours or overnight. The longer you leave it, the darker it will be. When you go to rinse out, rinse all the paste out and then use a bottle of conditioner to soften the rest out of the hair. Do not shampoo, it ruins the results. Shampoo two days after doing hair. The colour is very bright at first, but as the dye molecule oxidizes, it darkens the hair. How can i bring out my natural red hair color?

Kendra Sac

Okay i have colored my hair blonde and it stripped all the color out and then i wanted it back to my natural color because i couldn't keep up with coloring it. Now that i colored it back to red it keeps fading out look like a puky color. Its patchy and wont keep color in certain spots. How can i get it to stay red? Either a home remedy anything that will help please?

Answer
Well, shampoo and deep - condition it twice a week, this will help to keep its colour, but don't do it too much or it can cause breakages.
Or you can use l'oreal Paris, Elvive caring shampoo colour protect. I used this once, and it really helped, but the price is kinda' high, but I would say it's really worth it.
