I'm a redhead and don't mind my hair color at all. It's not the orange red but darker red, and I'm just kinda wanting it to be slightly more vibrant. Is there a product for red hair that could help me without actually dying my hair?

I seem to remember a red hair glaze from John Frieda from when I was dying my hair red. It made my hair supershiny and maybe a little redder. There was also this awesome red antifrizz serum at Sally's that's sadly been discontinued. :(

I don't usually like to brag, but I have got some rocking vibrant red hair! I'm super proud of my ginger locks; they're my defining trait. But I've heard that in time, red hair fades to a dirty brownish color. i have dyed red hair (naturally brown) and i like to use the John Freida line for Radiant Reds. they have a shampoo and conditioner and also a glaze that sort of deposits color. i find that i don't have to dye my hair as often when i use these. plus, they smell fantastic!

We experience change in hair color throughout our whole life. Do not confuse these changes with gray hair. That is a completely different process, and I really doubt your hair is turning gray. Even babies experience change in hair color. Sometimes, simple things such as taking sun can change the color of your hair. Do not worry!!

Hmm when I tried dying my hair a light brown I just used a dark/medium blonde over my hair which lightened it a lot just make sure you put the dye on right, streaky or patchy hair are a nightmare to fix lol.

you will need to "fill" your hair first. the purpose of a filler, or pre-pigmentation, is to return the missing pigment from the hair prior to doing a tint-back service. if you were to just put darker color on, it would look muddy, and dull without a filler. the filler would have to be a warm shade. this step is necessary in order for your target color to look the best, and for this step, your hair will temporarily be an unflattering color because you need that warmth in there to put back the missing pigment in your hair. this also ensures that the color wonât fade rapidly either. process, rinse, dry, and THEN apply the target color over it. . I would use a demi permanent color in a level 8 warm red/gold color. It's a lot of work, you may want to see a pro.

Any color looks pretty with blue eyes, but a color like magenta that contrasts with the eyes would look especially stunning. Try red, dark pink, magenta, or purple. Green looks nice too.

So I used ion color corrector to take black dye out of my hair before dying it red. It worked and I used Manic Panic Pillar Box Red temporary hair color. It came out somewhat of an auburn color. I dye my hair red all the time. Usually i also end up with auburn and have to go bright red like i want it. try using garniare nutreisse on it in the red/burgundy color and it always gets you to the color you want.

I have dark brown hair, and hazel eyes. I wear brown contacts because the green in my eyes really stands out when I wear bright clothing, and I think brown looks more natural (also because I have blue carpet and brown are much easier to find when I drop them!). I wear self tanners because I hate how pale my skin looks in the winter. Iwant a little color. I never end up looking tan, but my mom always tells me I look like Maria Menudos, JLO, or some Hispanic actress when I have my sunless tanner on. I'm not trying to look like another race. Sometimes, it's just good to have a change. My eyes were always brown, but have gotten greener as I've gotten into my 20s. My dad is mostly French (1/4 English) so he has the Mediteranean features, olive skin and black hair. I have the same features, hair, but my mom's side's pale skin and green eyes. I don't like the contrast, it's that simple, though I always go back to the pale skin at least b/c even the light tint I get from tanners is hard to maintain.

I don't think I look Hispanic...are dark-skinned, dark haired and eyed ppl assumed to be non-white? Isn't this combo the most common even in the white race? In small town midwest, that may not be true b/c of all the Scots-Irish ancestory. People here are so simple; dark skin, eyes, etc. = non-white. Are folks like this everywhere? I lived in an urban area where there was a small but growing Latino population. Latinos greet each other in a certain way; I was greeted like this a couple times (and this was with my natural eye color and a light tan from the summer sun). I don't mind being mistaken for or told I look Latino - I just don't get the leap that because one tans or wears colored contacts, they're Latino or trying to be Latino. Do most people automatically equate dark features with non-white? I know Hispanics can be white, tho most in the U.S. appear to be mixed with the more indigenous features versus Spanish (European).

I have exactly the same colouring as you btw, though my skin is actually a pale olive (stays very light in cloudy weather but will tan in the sun without burning.)
Brown eyes and brown hair are indeed the most common colour combination in Europe. The med/south has the highest rate, British isles is about 50% brown eyes with varying shades of brown hair ; Ireland about 40% brown eyes but higher amounts of very dark hair,even black (waaayy more than red!),and then as you go north you start getting higher amounts of fair hair and blue eyes.
The blue eye gene is fairly recent, only about 10,000 years old and probably came from ONE person.The original inhabitants of Europe all had brown hair/eyes in varying shades.

So for a long time I wanted hair extensions. After a lot of research, I decided to get hairdreams hair extensions. I have blonde curly hair that is just past shoulder length, and when I went for my consultation a few days ago I asked if I should get curly extensions. The woman said that she didn't think so, but she could perm them before I got them, but she didn't think she would need to.

I got them put in yesterday, and they straightened my hair to put them in. This morning I wet all my hair and the extension hair, because I wanted to see how it would look curly. Long story short, I have straight extensions bonded into my curly hair. I really don't like the way it looks, I tried scrunching it, I tried everything I possibly could without using heat on my hair, because my hair is really damaged and I don't like using heat on it.

I want the extensions taken out. I really don't like the way they look, I should've thought about it more before jumping right in to getting them put in. Do you think I would be able to get my money back? They were really expensive and I feel like I just wasted my money.

Evolution. You could call it inbreeding of some sort. It's very likely that you reproduce with someone from your own country, therefore the genes (alleles) for a specific hair color doesn't spread very much.

There are differences in appearance in other geographical areas as well. Take Asia as an example, there are vast differences between Russians, Japanese, Indians (the real Indians, not native Americans) etc. It may not be the hair color that differs (like in your example), it may be the facial appearance or other things that is distinct to each country.

So, the differences exist. However there may be differences in other things than hair color.

Where to buy good quality red hair dye?

I would like to know where to buy good quality red hair color. At the moment, my hair is longer then shoulder-length. The color is medium ash brown with 2-3 inches light tips (colored with L'Oreal's Medium Ombre). The only reason I colored it like that is because I am 31 and I feel like I shouldn't do crazy hairdos or colors anymore, but all this time I am feeling like something is missing. So, I decided to put red over it, so that my brown hair is actually auburn and my tips are screaming crazy red, with a few highlights here and there.
I have problems finding a good red hair color. I've just ordered a jar of Manic Panic's RED PASSION, but that color is semi-permanent and I want something that's going to last at least 5-6 weeks.
Does anyone have an advice on where to find similar hair color that is permanent? Or do you think that if I mix some regular (store-bought, for example: L'Oreal's Feria or similar) red color, it would last longer?

are you looking for permanent or semi/demi permanent? If you're looking for permanent, Garnier, L'oreal and Clairol all make pretty good at home box dyes. I've provided a Garnier colour swatch below.
if you want a semi-permanent dye, or if you want to buy one and mix a little bit in with your conditioner (which is a good way to keep it from fading as fast), then Punky Colour makes a very pigmented red called 'Red Wine'.
For the best upkeep for red hair, I would use a colour safe shampoo. Seeing as shampoo strips the hair, you'll need something with no sulfates or Sodium Lareth Sulfate. A good shampoo for red-heads, ironically enough, is Redken. They make a shampoo called colour-extend (which I have), and it is very good quality. Avoid drugstore shampoos, because these contain a lot of silicone which means you'll have to use a strong cleansing shampoo to get rid of the build-up more often, which isn't good for red or any colour-treated hair.
You can purchase permanent hairdye at Walmart, Costco, CVS, Kroger, Ultah, Sally's, etc.

You will notice color when you wash your hair, but it shouldn't wash out if you used perminate color. Try going to a beauty supply store like Sally"s and buying some color booster. They sometimes have the at the register for 99 cents. Good luck

I'm was trying to get a goldish-brown hue, and had to use a booster to get my hair to lighten (it doesn't take to color easily). Instead, it came out copper-red with some darker roots. So please, can someone suggest what I can do at home to bring the color down? I'm getting extensions in a week, and must do something now to get a golden-brown hue...

at this point i would not suggest adding more color to your hair especially cause ur roots are darker....red is hard to get rid of..honestly the ony way to fix this once and for all its to go to a salon and get a soap cap done and then dye your hair at the salon of course the color that resembles copper red...a good hairdresser can mix a custom shade for you...just remember color deposits..it does not lift color nor does adding color change color

I started dying my hair a dark red color two months ago (I get it done professionally) and so far all I got done was my entire hair (first time it was dyed) and the roots touched up. I use special shampoo to keep the color in longer so I won't have to dye it as much. I love school shopping is that weird? I like getting new clothes! I'm also starting eighth grade. Any tips how to act or dress I want a NEW STYLE! I can't CUT MY HAIR . Last year I was the new girl which was really hard for me but Now I got really good and I fit in. I want a new style. Also Any Advice?

I just graduated from eighth grade, and it's AMAZING! Keep up with 2013-2014 trends. High-waisted shorts and pants, printed leggings, baggy knit sweaters, beanies, vintage looking or combat boots, long layered necklaces, etc. are all in style! Deep reds and purples are the trending colors for Fall 2013! Also, don't stray from the basics: Skinny jeans, fitted t-shirts, scarves, converse/vans/keds, boots and all that stuff.

Experiment with new makeup! I suggest BB cream, translucent powder, winged eyeliner, neutral eyeshadow, mascara, light and natural lip colors, and a light pink blush will make you look polished and awake :) Don't go crazy with it though! Always experiment with makeup until you perfect your personal look. And always apply makeup appropriate to your age! You should probably check out some youtube videos, they're always helpful!

Good luck in eighth grade! It was a great year for me! My advice: work hard, don't procrastinate, and enjoy it!

How to wear wine or berry colored lipstick?

I'm very pale but have a warm skin tone (I dont look good in cool hair and makeup colors). I love the look of dark wine or berry colored lipsticks with dark hair. However, I feel like when I put it on my face looks paler, and my lips thinner. How can I wear this shade without my lips looking thinner? Also, how can I do my eyes so my makeup doesn't look clownish. I usually line my eyes in a thin black line all the way around but can't really do that with dark lipstick. But if I go without eye makeup I look like my eyes have disappeared, lol.

Apparently I am being removed from my school for my hair?

Q. Ok, so I go to a British school and I have a medium sized Mohawk with Red Highlights (resembling my favorite UFC Fighter). Apparently, this is against the rules of the school and the law, and if I do not shave it ALL off I will be removed from the school.

um in new york where i live i went to a catholic school and they made me cut my hair cause it was long than my shoulder length. i eventually did it cause it was my last year there but now im in a public high school and im growing my hair realy long. you should protest against it because its not right that other people are telling you what to do with yourself.

Any color looks pretty with blue eyes, but a color like magenta that contrasts with the eyes would look especially stunning. Try red, dark pink, magenta, or purple. Green looks nice too.

So I used ion color corrector to take black dye out of my hair before dying it red. It worked and I used Manic Panic Pillar Box Red temporary hair color. It came out somewhat of an auburn color. Is there anyway I can get it to the bright red that I want without stripping it again? Also, if there is what are some good permanant bright red hair colors?

I dye my hair red all the time. Usually i also end up with auburn and have to go bright red like i want it. try using garniare nutreisse on it in the red/burgundy color and it always gets you to the color you want.

My dad and sister have red hair, but me and my brothers all have brown hair. I look nothing like my dad and take after my mum [hair colour and I look the spitting image].
My partner also has brown hair, however his sister has strawberry blonde hair, and his grandad has red hair.
What would be the chances of our child being born with red hair, we both have brown so would it still carry through ?

Red hair is a recessive inheritance pattern. What that means is that to have red hair a person must have two copies of the red hair gene (lets call it r), if they have only one copy, their hair won't be red because the second gene will be dominant over the single red one. So if r = red hair you have to have rr to actually have red hair, if you have rx (x being anything else) then you carry a gene for red hair that can be passed on to your children but don't actually have it yourself. So considering that both of your families do have redheads there is a chance that both you and your partner have one r gene each. If you have a child then IF both of you have that r gene there is a 25% chance of your child having red hair, remember that is if you both have that one copy of the r gene, which you really can't figure out from sight alone.

Overall I would say it is a small chance, but it impossible to pinpoint an exact percentage! Besides red hair isn't a bad thing!

Would I dye my hair brown first and then put a red over it? Or would I just use a dark red dye? I know it wont take as well in the ends as it will in the roots due to over processing, but I'm going to gopher it anyways! Any tips are much appreciated. Thank you.

First of all, thats not dark red. thats red. Considering your hair is the color in the first picture, if you put the color on top of your hair you'll get that color and you are right, the color will fade from the ends cause its damaged.

You might wanna use a semi-permanent. I definitely recommend adore's wild cherry. it can be found in any beauty supply store and its super cheap. Your hair will fade regardless so get use to that

Also, the girl in the picture, i believe went from black to red hair because not all of her hair is red but if you want that red, just put a semi-permanent on top.

EDIT: i just realize you wanna do it with developer. Dont do that, you are definitely not going to get a red. Get a semi-permanent, most people use manic panic but honestly i hate that brand. fades after two days! Get adore, they say its for African hair but it works for me and i dont have afro hair.

I used to have blonde hair and got it dyed professionally. I told her I wanted a very light brown with no red tints, I guess that would be an ash brown, and I came out with dark dark auburn-ish hair. Part of it faded and when I went back I told her again no dark hair and yet she did it again. Before that I always colored my hair myself and plan on doing that again by purchasing a box from Walmart but I don't know what to get. I want to go from my dark brown red tinted hair to a light ash brown.
