How would I look with red hair?

fallon

I've had my hair red before, but I'm looking for opinions on whether or not I should dye it red again.

My hair isn't this dark currently so you know:

Good one of my hair, and yes, I am aware of the fact that my hair needs to be combed:

Answer
I wouldnt recommend red hair for you.
You have a cool skin tone - red doesnt go with cool skin tones compared to warms.
You have a good skin color tone that combines good with the hair color you have now - try only getting highlights with a bit of a lighter color abour 2-3 shades lighter, it'll brighten up your face mostly cheeks and chin.

Cool hair colors for tan skin?

Iris

Okay for starters, in summer my skin gets a tad tanner than usual. So as of right now my skin color is tan yet pale. Does that make any sense? Well anyway, I'm wanting to dye my hair a unique color; such as pink, blue, etc. What color would look best with my skin tone?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you (:

Answer
I would just go with darkish red. My best friend has it, an she's pretty tan, and she looks REALLY good!
But as for the 'unique' color wise, I would go with pink.

BUT, TAKE MY ADVICE! I HAVE HAD PINK HAIR FOR TWO YEARS!
In order to get the pink color you want, you have to bleach it. If you dont want to bleach it, you'll be out of luck. But BE CAREFUL WHEN BLEACHING! If you can afford it, I would get a professional to do it. If not, have a friend help you out to make sure you get the bleach COMPLETELY covering the your ENTIRE HAIR, or the hair you want.

When you have your pink hair, it will fade FAST. You MUST keep up with it, otherwise it will end up looking terrible later on. Take this advice also: Buy more pink hair dye (one or two bottles, depending how often you want to keep doing this), and DEEP CONDITIONER THAT IS WHITE. Doesn't matter who makes the conditioner, as long as its WHITE, and a DEEP CONDITIONER. (Note: You don't HAVE to have a deep conditioner, it will just help a lot more with damage and dryness than a normal conditioner would!)
What you want to do is pour out your WHITE conditioner into a nice, big bowl, and pour an entire bottle of pink hair dye into the WHITE conditioner that you have. (Or half a bottle of the pink hair dye, depending on how bright and vibrant you want your hair color to be.) Mix and stir it around for about a minute, or however long you prefer. Once that is done, pour it back into the bottle the conditioner came in.
What this will do, is every time you shampoo, your hair color will fade. What the now pink conditioner will do, is add back the color you shampoo'd out! Leave the conditioner in your hair for about 3-5 minutes, then wash it out. Yes, the conditioner WILL wash out just a little bit of the color from the conditioner, but hardly any. This is a good way to both deep conditioner the hair you bleached AND colored, AND keep the color lasting longer!

BEWARE! Depending on the brand of hair dye you get, it WILL STAIN TOWELS, SHEETS, PILLOWS, AND CLOTHES. So be careful to completely dry your hair once you're done washing it!

NOTE: For the WHITE conditioner, a hair color treatment conditioner will also be good. Conditioner for color treated hair will help the color last longer, so if you can find a WHITE conditioner like that, that would be a good alternative for other conditioners. Deep conditioner or color treated conditioner works either way, as long as its white.

Another note: You will need to keep bleaching your roots every few months, or until you think your dark roots are too long. It's okay to bleach over some of the pink when bleaching your roots, but try not to go over the pink hair too much. It'd be better to have a professional do it, or a friend to help you out. After that, put in some pink hair dye, leave it in for however long you want to, wash it out, and use the now pink conditioner you have! :)
