Do red heads tend to be more tempermental?

Q. My sister is always bitchy.. and shes a red head...

Answer
It's a stereotype, even if there are statistics leaning towards it. The result of our personalities are not caused by our hair and skin color, and hair and skin color do not determine personalities. After all, not every blond-haired person is dumb.

Did ancient Celtic or Gaelic people have only blonde or red hair , and only blue or green eyes?

Or did some have brown hair, brown eyes? Is there any proof one way or another about this?

Answer
I'm Northern Irish and most people here have dark hair and light eyes - blonde hair is actually more common in England and the Scandinavian countries than in Ireland and red hair is more common in Scotland than in Ireland. That being said, most Scots are dark haired/light eyed as well, as are most Welsh people. Given that the Irish, Scots and Welsh are of Celtic ancestry, that would suggest that dark hair/light eyes was the most common combination amongst ancient Celts. There's also a fair amount of Irish people with dark hair and dark eyes, we call them 'Black Irish', my gran was like that. Although I've heard that these people are descended from the sailors of the Spanish Armada ships that moored on the north-east Irish coast in the 16th century i.e. they have Spanish ancestry, so perhaps dark hair/dark eyes combinations are more to do with Spanish ancestry rather than Celtic. I don't know if there's proof regarding the ancient Celts but there's certainly online statistics for what colourings are most common in modern Celtic people, most are derived from limited surveys so they don't provide a complete picture but they should give you a basic idea of what's most common here.

Hope this helps
