Love, Anne

I started taking biotin yesterday & I searched up some reviews on biotin. They say biotin causes terrible break outs & I never break out because I take care of my face everyday. So then, I saw that taking vitamin D & vitamin b-12 with biotin helps prevent acne. I was wondering if these vitamin supplements were true. If not, what other vitamins help to not make acne pop up? I really want to grow my hair but i don't want to if I'm just going to get pimples. Please, no websites or negative feedback, thanks.

Answer
NEVER TAKE supplements without your doctor's OK. Buy/use supplements at your own risk.
One YA poster caused her to have major breakouts from supplements. Another poster said: "
i took biotin to grow my hair out, and it ended up falling out too!! it was worse around my bang area, like where you part it, there waas a huge patch of hair missing so i had to move my part for 5 months!" Another example, one taking Biotin & Zinc: "I have taken Biotin ( 300mcg ), Zinc (15mg) and Folic Acid(800mcg) and I realised my breast have gotten really sore, I didn't know what the reason was, but then I realised that I have been taken vitamins."

According Dr. Melissa Piliang, a dermatologist at the Cleveland Clinic. Americans spent an estimated $176 million on hair loss products last year, and chances are some of that money was not well spent. Donât let charming salon owners, seductive ads or fancy gimmicks convince you otherwise.

CNN, Slate, Consumer Reports, MSN, YAHOO have posted them online for years how people spend $20 billion per year on vitamins and supplements.  According to Everyday Health, here's an article that will tell you why . . . those PRODUCTS by any other name do NOT WORK.  It is false advertisements.
Beginning in February 2008, they experienced one symptom after another: diarrhea, joint pain, HAIR LOSS, lung problems, and fingernails and toenails that fell off. FDA has received numerous reports of harm associated with the use of these products, including stroke, liver injury, kidney failure, heart palpitations, and death. 3-15-11.

If you've straightened your hair in the past, it may grow slowly or none at all.
Google: "Foods for Healthy Hair" - Fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains all supply B-complex vitamins, like biotin, folic acid and vitamin B12, as well as vitamin A, copper and zinc, which are all necessary for remedying dry, brittle hair and nourishing a healthy scalp. Some prime examples of foods that contain these nutrients for healthy hair include:
·                     Folic Acid - asparagus, beets, broccoli, avocados, Brussels sprouts, beans, chickpeas, soybeans, lentils, oranges, fresh peas, turkey and spinach.
·                     Biotin - cauliflower, liver, salmon, carrots, bananas, cereals, yeast, and soy flour. Keep in mind that biotin content is reduced when food is cooked or preserved.
·                     Vitamin B12 - foods rich in vitamin B12 include animal protein (such as beef, lamb, and veal), clams and oysters, liver, fish, milk, and egg yolks.
·                     Vitamin A - butter, egg yolks, fish, fortified milk, organ meats (such as
liver), and dark green, orange, red (pomegranate), and yellow fruits (persimmons, mangoes) and vegetables, which all
contain beta-carotene.
. Copper - oysters and other shellfish, whole grains, beans, nuts, potatoes and organ meats are good sources of copper. Dark leafy greens, dried fruits such
as prunes, cocoa, black pepper, and yeast are also sources of copper in the diet.
â¢Â  Zinc â beef, eggs, liver, pork, poultry, and oysters. Also is also abundant in other high-protein foods, like cheese, legumes and nuts.

Do all people with red hair come from the same part of the world originally according to Darwin/migration etc?

:::::Al

According to any principles with regards to Darwinism, Genetics, or whatever principle governs that sort of thing, do all people with red hair hail from the same part of the world or were they in lots of different parts of the world, and when did this hair color first appear in history and where?

Answer
That is very likely. Red hair appears in people with two copies of a recessive gene which causes a change in the protein coding skin pigments. It is associated with fair skin colour, freckles, and sensitivity to ultraviolet light.

The pale skin associated with red hair may be of advantage in far-northern climates where sunlight is scarce. Lighter skin pigmentation encourages higher levels of Vitamin D production and also allows the individual to retain heat better than someone with darker skin.

Estimates on the original occurrence of the currently active gene for red hair vary from 20,000 to 100,000 years ago. Sometimes it's supposed that the red hair gene is a 'Celtic gene'. True or not, all red heads are variants that derive from European populations; the prevalence of the recessive red-hair gene is highest in Celtic countries, like Scotland, Ireland and Wales.
