How do i make a pirate costume for halloween?

My sister wants to be a pirate for halloween she is eleven and she wants a homemade one! I said i'll make it but please help, she wants the outfit to have black or brown boots, and a dagger! Please help!

i was a pirate a couple of years ago and i found a cheap red and white stripped tunic type shirt at a thrift store. i also wore 2 pairs of leggings ( one white and one black) i wore the black on top of the white and cut some holes in order to look ragged. (plus its REALLY cold where i live on halloween) and i also found a play knife holing belt that i wore loosely on my waist. i bought an eye cover and black dew rag. lastly i wore my hair in messy braids... hope i helped have a good halloween!

Halloween costumes suggestions for red haired girls?

I'm trying to think of costumes, but my bright red hair may not look flattering with some costumes like Alice in Wonderland or black cat. Any suggestions.
