maintaining red hair color?

I know red hair is the toughest color to maintain but does anyone have any advice or tips on how to do that? i use loreal preference every 2 months and pantene red expressions shampoo to keep the color rich and vibrant, should i switch brands?

im dying my hair in a week, and i want your oppionons on what would look best. i loveee change, and i want a big change that will be noticable

The blond pic is too raggedy and messy, not nice at all... the red-purple is nice :)
