Does dying my ends red damage my hair?

I want to dye my ends red but idk cuz my mom doesnt want me to mess up my hair like bleach it but its not the roots so plzz help 10 POINTS

anytime you use a chemical dye on your hair it will do some damage. This is going to sound incredibly weird but when I was younger(back in the dark ages of the 70s) My friends and I would experiment with natural hair dyes. Warning do not do this is you have blonde hair. We both had brown hair, hers was almost a honey brown while mine was darker. We took the juice from some canned beets and soaked our hair in it. It made a mess but it added a really nice reddish/purple highlight. We also used red wine but I don't know how old you are or maybe try henna coloring. But if you have light hair it will come out like a carrot.
