Genetics hair and eye color?

shade

If one parent has brown hair and brown eyes, and the other parent has blonde hair and blue eyes, can their child have red hair and blue eyes?

Answer
Yes this is possible. One of the parents can have the Dominant brown hair gene and the Recessive red hair gene, and have the Dominant brown eye gene and the Recessive blue eye gene. While the other parent can contain the Blonde hair gene (which could be dominant) and the recessive red hair gene (which could mix to make a strawberry blonde), and both blue eye genes.

The child would have 2 red hair genes (possibly a red and a blond), and 2 blue eye genes.!

What colour eyes are most common for people with red hair?

Q. In general, what colour eyes are the most common for a red haired person? I'm talking about in real life, not in the media. Thanks.

Answer
Blue, hazel, brown, green. My neice's husband is red haired and brown eyed. I knew a nun who had red hair and brown eyes. It isn't all that unusual. Too many people have stereotypes in mind.

Since green is the national color of Ireland, all too many people have a silly notion that Irish have red hair and green eyes. Often times romantic novelist leave that impression when they write about a pretty Irish lass with red hair and green eyes, just like a Christmas tree. Good Grief! I was born with red hair and blue eyes. Now my hair lightened up as I grew older.
