Answer
yes, it will look nice
but you will probably have to bleach it a little bit & then apply the red to it.

Good luck !! =]

Has anyone tried to dye hair two colors, black on top and red underneath?

my daughter wants me to color her hair but in two colors any advice, I am thinking to separate the hair on top color black then the back underneath section red. should i do it all at once or do the black then the red or vice-versa?

Answer
1.The first thing to do is make sure that black is the color of choice. Many people do it and hate it and it is really hard to lighten it back up. Look at some pictures and determine if maybe you could try a dark brown first.
2. Does your daughter have any color on her hair now? If so I would recommend seeing a professional. It may be simple enough for you to do, but without seeing her, I can't really say.
If she doesn't.......
3. Start by sectioning the top from the bottom in a zig zag pattern. If she wants the red underneath in the front, start at the temple zagging down carving v's into the hair until you reach the other temple. If she just wants it in the back, start behind the ear zagging up carving v's until you reach the other ear. The zig zag pattern will look totally pro and your daughter will love it!
4. Apply the red first. Red fades fast and needs the most time to process. Cover it with some foil or plastic wrap and secure with clips.
5. Apply the black (or brown).
6. Don't worry about getting it together when rinsing.
Good luck!
